There’s something that aches in our soul for lost drag strips. Not because we raced there or wasted hours wandering the pits, but because we never will. We caught wind of this home video of some awesome drag racing action at New York National Drag Strip taken in May of 1969.

We’re working on Killer Kong’s powertrain a little backwards to emphasize how crucial the rest of the package is.
Rather than yet another formulaic play-by-play of the three-day auction at the Orange County Fair Grounds in Costa Mesa, CA., I wanted to show the “art” that makes these awesomely unique and beautiful machines worth all the money they’re pulling in. It’s all in the details they say, so that’s what I focused on.

Driven by Larry Quinn, this Nostalgia Super Stock ’62 Pontiac (titled “Blast From The Past”), this heavy-hitting Poncho definitely packs one heck of a punch. Quinn drove the Pontiac to a huge win with a 8.95-second pass at 147.8 miles per hour.
