Lucas Oil and MavTV announced their sponsorship of longtime pro stock racer Greg Stanfield on Tuesday. Stanfield will be taking on the competition this season in the MavTV/Lucas Oil Chevy Camaro beginning next month at the Winternationals in Pomona.
The Irwindale Drag Strip (Irwindale, CA) announced last week it’s plan to host six Summit Series races again this year. The series starts in March and runs through the summer, culminating in the finals in September.
With the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals looming, Don Walsh Jr. and his team set out to do a little testing with their Pro Mod Mustang late last week. Walsh and the Precision Turbo team hit the ground running and set a new career best elapsed time for Walsh– 5.81 at 248 mph.

PremiAir, based out of Sydney,Australia, is set to debut it’s new Top Fuel dragster with Luke Shepherd as the driver in the ANDRA Pro Series this season, but as you can tell by the photos and video, testing has been rather eventful thus far.

Ed Thornton, a Pro Street racer out of Chino, California is the latest victim of theft in the sport.Thornton reported Sunday that his twin turbo 1963 Chevy Corvette, and its trailer, had been stolen.
Just over a week ago, NHRA rule changes went into effect regarding the Pro Modified class minimum weights. The ADRL then followed suit. Both adjustments aim at improving parity, namely for the struggling supercharged cars.
Following an all-too-familiar trend, Dallas Raceway Park in Crandall, Texas announced last week that it would be closing its gates. The announcement on the tracks website stated the closure was due to “hard economic times and financial reasons.”

The block’s features include a different sized main oil galley and freeze plugs, coated aluminum bore (rather than the steel cylinder liner), improved oil drain back holes, etc.
