This morning we shot Chris Alston's awesome Vortech supercharged Nova for an upcoming feature. Alston sits third in Outlaw 10.5W qualifying.

It's another beautiful day here in central Florida's West coast. We may reach a high temp of 79 degrees today with full sunshine forecast through the day the track may get a little tricky this afternoon. As always it's do the best you can, cut a light and race the track.

Billy Hamilton was the top qualifier in 7.50 index and is still in aftet two round of competition, defeating Shawn McNaughton after having the earned bye in round one.

Chris Adams is here again competing in 7.50 Index after having won here at bradenton at several different events. He took out Gerry Vizzo in round one with a perfect 7.500 @ 85 MPH.

Ed Wester launches hard in his Real Speed racing nitrous huffing SBF Mustang. he won over Paige Sosa, then John Fernandez in round two.

Bill Lee Jr. is driving this 79 Fairmont this weekend, he is also into the second round with the hard launching Ford.

Bill Lee Sr. is driving this weekend for the first time is over two years. He got by Carl Mitchell in round one but then fell to Ray Degiovine after breaking out with a 5.464.

Mark McElwee laid down low ET in Open Outlaw making the team very happy. A straight 4.88 @ 188 for them.

Teammates ken Cruz and Chris Mendola faced off in round one of Automatic Pro Mod with Mendolataking the win with a very nice best of weekend 4.19 @ 177. They have brought on Bob Newberry this year to help with tuning the car and it is paying off.

Frank Meshaw put down a 4.58 @ 139 after lifting early on what started out as a great run. the car drove to the right and he clicked it about 500 feet out. A red light in round two against Tony Johnson has him doe for the day.

Pat Adams al;ways launched hard with the wheels up, today he got into some tire shake and the car moved around towards the center line and he had to lift, taking the loss to Tony Lobaldo.

Amanda Long had a single running a 4.68 @ 166, matching Tony Ridenour's ET.

kevin Fiscus posted low ET for round one in ODR/Limited Street with a 4.541 @ 177 on his earned single.

Walt Drakeford had low ET in a round one single against the broken Brian Goss. Round two had Drakeford and Berry matching up with Drakeford again coming away with a round win.

Lary Hart had luck go his way big time after being matched up with the number four qualifier Rick Losee. Losee lost traction and coulnd'nt make up the differance handing Hart the win with a 5.32 @ 137.

Cory Berry faced off with Darrell Peterson in the only NA entry of the event. A .031 tree put Breey out frontand ran a nice 5.10 @ 138 taking the win.

Brand and Adams had a tight race in the semis of Auto Pro Mod , a 4.26 for brand takes the win over Adams’ 4.27. The El General Racing Team faced each other with Turull taking the upset win over Gonzalez who fell off pace early in the run.

Hutson takes a loss to Mcelwee, 3.82 to 3.91. Logan gets the round over Mike Laws with a 4.01 to Laws’ 4.17.

6.50 Index Runner Up - Ramiro Sosa Jr.

6.50 Index Winner Ray Reese was one spot up on the ladder from Sosa at the start of eliminations and they wound up in a tight double break out final.

5.50 Index Runner Up - Steve Tiona

5.50 Index Winner Ray Degiovine put a .017 tree on Tiona forcing him to run hard at the stripe and breaking out by just .006 to Degiovine's 5.52.

X275 Winner - Walt Drakeford had low ET in round one then took out the number two car of Clint Lonon in the semis with a 5.07 @ 135 as Lonon slowed to a .20. In the final with Pirez he was out first with a .039 and put up a nice 5.02 @ 142 to stay in front of Pirez' 4.99 @146 MPH run.

X275 Second Chance Winner Ray Korkowski fron Jupiter, Florida put his 1980 Elcamino in the winners circle here today. The car runs a simple cast iron Merlin head 468 ci. BBC on nitrous good enough for 5.50's. He met James Urban in the final seemingly redlighting away his shot but Urban broke early in the run and passed the scales on the top end to give Korkowski the win.

Outlaw 632 Winner - Mike Schmidt was the number one qualifer this weekend and met number three man Eddie Whitlow in the final after having low ET the past two rounds. Schmidt left first and was on a pass with Whitlow no slouch putting up a 4.70 @ 154. Shcmidt would have the stripe with a fine 4.66 @ 155.

ODR/Limited Street Runner Up - Amanda "Puddin' " Long ran well but struggled and came to the final hurt. Thew crank trigger was rubbing and caused a loss of power, also putting aluminum shaving under the car on the track. Initally waved back by the starter, the track was swept off and Amanda pulled forward to stage but lost traction at the green.

ODR/Limited Street Winner - Kevin Fiscus ran a 4.69 @ 175 after Amanda Long spun the tires at the hit.

Automatic Pro Mon Runner Up - "Tripple B" Bad Brad Brand Ripped off a 3.96 @ 203 in round one over Jerico Balduf for low ET of eliminations after struggling some in qualifying.

Automatic Pro Mod Winner - Gustavo Turull qualified fourth then laid down a 4.08 over El General Racing team mate Jose Gonzalez in the semi final. In the final he put a light on Brand and a 4.08 @ 180 for the win over Brands game 4.16.

Open Outlaw Winner - Mark McElwee posted low ET for every round after qualifying third. Perhaps not so strange being that the top two cars were out but running four 3.80's in a row is getting it done. He met with Ron Logans T n A Racing dragster in the final laying down a 4.87 @ 198 as Logan took himself out on a foul start.

Open Outlaw Runner Up - Ron Logan had two byes into the semis where he met with Mike Laws taking the win with a 4.01.

The staff started preppign the track about 9 AM today with a time run for the index cars set to begin about 10 AM.

The Part Time Performance crew got Willard Kinzers ride all buttoned up last night after replacing the throttle body, mounting a hood fromt he swap meet here at the track and repairing some piping for the turbo inlet after a backfire blew the hood off during qualifying yesterday.

Corndog drives for the Team Midnight racing team and he is going to round three after scoring a nice 5.12 in round one and winning round two as well of the second chance X275 race after having a cylinder head welded up yesterday by Jeff Lutz.

Darren Breaud was clearly out front early in a match with Brad Edwards in Radial vs. the World but the twin turbo top end charge of Edwards edged out at the stripe.

Scotty G. lost to Eric Dillard in OL 10.5 after losing traction but did make it past Mel Nelson in Radial vs. the World with a nice 4.57 @167.

Francis Johnson had low ET in Outlaw Radial with a 4.64 @ 158 on a single over Chad Opaleski who bent a oil pump mandrel and wasn't able to make the call with his newly Procharged 66 Chevelle.

John Urist had a nice 4.81 @ 159 taking out Ali Belford in Outlaw 275.

a 4.94 @ 148 for Sean Lyons got the win over Richie Stine who slowed to a 5.93 after spinning the tires.

Clint Lonon took out the turbo charged ride of Brad Medlock from the 31st spot in a series of nitrous wins early in X275 round one with a 5.03 @ 141

Tim Kincaid got an easy round win when top qualifier John Carter leaked on the burnout, he ran a 4.77 @ 171

Chris Daniels scraped the wall in 10.5 this morning but got a win over Ruben T. with a clean 4.73 @ 162 while Ruben did his best to pedal the car and keep the front end down to no avail, but still a game 4.82.

Jackson has low ET so far with a 4.408 @ 177 on a single.

PTC - Radial vs The World Winner - Alex Vrettos The final was anti climactic as neither racer was able to make the final run. Alex has had good luck this year with tuning help from Job Spetter and Turbo People.

Holley - No Boost Winner - Richie Stine Stine and Johnson made for an all Maryland no Boost final with Stine running another mid 4.50 and Johnson slowing to a 5.07 @ 151 after losing the hood scoop in the semi final round backfire against Brian McKee.

VP Racing Fuels - Outlaw Radial Winner - Jason Black Gastonia, North Carolina racer Jason Black visited the winners circle again for photos this year besting Kenny Markwich's turbo powered mustang with a 4.47 @ 162.

TCI - X275 Winner - Kevin Neal and team mate Justin Johnson. Neal's 4.78 is the quickest for a nitrous car on 275 and the new record for the class.

X275 Second Chance Winner - Walter Drakeford After struggling with electrical issues and rolling the beams on the last qualifier after a shorted trans brake button the Real Speed Racing team put things together, ran his first 4.99 in round one and went on to win. Team Midnight runnered up after also logging their first four second run in the semis but was unable to make the call for the final.

Outlaw 10.5 Winner - Rob Wells had low ET in round three in a win over Danny Lowery and had the most consistent runs during eliminations.

Needless to say, Steve King and Jeff Miller were ecstatic about their first five-second run, a 5.92, recorded during the second session of Blown Pro Mod, that placed them atop the field going into eliminations. According to Miller, the team put all the parts in the Camaro following the unfortunate crash of their '57 Chevrolet a couple months ago. The team tested a torque converter setup but couldn't get a handle on the new combination and swapped out everything behind the firewall with the tried-and-true clutch combo to make it to Shakedown. "We went out there in the first session yesterday and it left good and I thought, 'man, it's really going,' and then it comes up 6.09. We came back and viewed the graph and really felt like we could go after it," said Miller.'

We're underway with the final qualifying sessions for 8.50 Index and X275. A brief opening ceremony will follow, with the first round of Pro Mod Blown rolling under the tower for a scheduled 11 AM start.

Fredy Scriba Jr. had his 5.83 from last night thrown out after evaluating the incrementals that included a sub-.9 second short time. However, Scruba showed that he's got the muscle to compete for the crown here today with a great opening round shot of 6.04 at 237 MPH to down Scott Hamel.

TJ Kasper sawd the tree down and stole one on a holeshot in the first round of Outlaw 10.5, edging John Cheman's 4.367 with a 4.393, compliments of a perfect .000 reaction time to Cheman's .078.

Steve Jackson has been the dominant car all weekend in Drag radial, and that trend continued in round one with a 4.447 defeat of Ruben Tetsoshvili - low ET of the round.

Isaias Rojas shocked everyone with his best run of the weekend in the hottest temperatures we've seen thus far, cruising to a 5.990 at 231.12 MPH to edge John Hall's 'right there' 6.06.

David Hance experienced some engine damage in his second round victory that the team attributed to a failed injector. According to Hance, his crew patched it back up in hopes of making it through the final round, but it wasn't meant to be as the New York Motorsports '57 Chevy broke right at the starting line against Tim O'Hare. "What a great weekend," said Hance. "We got down to four carsm made our first five-second run, and had top speed by a good margin."

What a turn of events Drag Radial has become. In their semifinal matchup, Steve Jackson lit the red bulb, and adding insult to injury, Scotty Gaudagno's machine broke the wishbone in the four-link, sending small parts scattering across the racetrack. After as thrash in the pits and several calls over the PA for a replacement wishbone, officials made the call that Gaudagno never crossed the scales while being pulled off the track, handing the round win back to Jackson.

Sam Gottier had a backfire through the manifold in the lights in the Heavy Street finale that sent the hood high into the sky above Raceway Park, but by then, he was long gone on his way to the class title, scoring a 4.46 to 4.67 victory over Joeph Richardson.

X275 should've been renamed the Rich Bruder Eliminator this weekend, after dominating virtually every session with low ET, a new world record, the #1 qualifying spot, and polishing it off with a final round defeat of Dean Marinis, 4.89 to 4.92.

Larry Wood captured a popular victory with his gorgeous Corvette in Outlaw 10.5, defeating surprise finalist Rick Snavely, all the way from California, by a 4.21 to 4.49 count.

Alex Vrettos pulled the trigger just a scant .004-seconds too soon in the Drag Radial finale, instantly handing the victory to Steve Jackson and the Killin' Time team, who received a huge gift just to make it into the final round.

Bud Yoder's bright pink motorcycle was a hard one to miss, and Joey Gladstone got a good look at it is as Yoder charged off into the distance in the Pro Street Bike final, recording a 7.318 at a booming 201.52 MPH as Gladstone had troubles and coasted through.

Crazy Bob and crew had a late night thrash replacing a piston with a broken skirt last night. They set the engine back in at 4 AM and are on 24 hours with no sleep thanks to Monster and 5 hour energy drinks.

Bob Collison runs this clean 73 Camaro in Pro Street. he races the car once a month here at Cecil and drives the car regularly on the street. The pump gas 468 ci. BBC powers the car to 10.30's with no problems. Bob also own the souvenir stands here at the track.

Karri Ann Beebe is running in Drag Radial with this 68 Chevelle. She runs a fuel injected nitrous combo and is sitting in 17th spot paired up with Ricky Fox for first round.

Jon Rittenhouse is the top qualifier in X275 with a 4.93, he ran another .93 in the final qualifying session and is ready to rock for eliminations today.

Chris Matters is here announcing this weekend along with regular track announcer Lee Sebring. Chris owns Fastmover Motorsports which sponsored the burnout contest as well as Eric kenward, Mike Pyott and Alex Vettros to help them make the show.

Qualifying runs started at 9 AM with Super Street. The first pair down was a mix of old and new school muscle, just how we like it.

Scotty G. got loose early in his run vs. Tim Johnson. He was able to recover and get by Johnson who lifted himself to a 6.75 @ 112.

Mel Nelson and Ricky Fox had a pedal fest with the turbocharged entry of Nelson managing a 4.69 @ 171 for the win.

Anthony DiSoma did a great job driving in his win over Tammo Mauro, keeping the car just straight enough to take the win and off the walls.

Buck Jarvis got crossed up and nearly into Brian Penna, getting into the wall pretty good, this is what's left of the front clip. He is ok.

Vettros turned in his best run of the weekend on a single, 4.50 @ 179 MPH. Great job sneaking up on it guys.

Chris Evans ran his fastest pass of the weekend taking the win with a 4.97 @ 144.

Richie Stine earned a nice come from behind win over Craig Walls, his 5.06 over Walls' 5.21 and .012 light.

Marty Whitt drove the wheels off his turbo Capri in a match with Scotty G. Scotty slowed down and Marty pulled the wheels not once but twice and kept it straight and in the 4's for the upset win.

Vinny Fiore lined up with top qualifier Paul Major's Vette in a Procharger vs. turbo battle in round two. Major lost traction at the hit and Fiore went red handing the win to the off pace Major.

Alex Vettros took out Marty Whit with a nice 4.51 @ 178 MPH to Whitt's .008 light and game 4.74 effort.

Nate Pritchett is having luck go his way today, he got a win over Jason Enos after his car lost fire due to a ignition box failure, Pritchett ran a 5.32 @ 139 off the gas.

Doug Harris got a holeshot win over Billy Gordon in his Travis Quillen tuned 68 Camaro.

Pete Harrell improved slightly to a 5.00 @146 over Trace Meyer's slowing 5.59 @ 137.

Fiscus has low ET in eliminations with a 4.45 @ 178 to take out Robert George Jr.

Adam Sailor went three rounds on holeshot wins with his 72 Dodge Demon and won the fourth on a red light by his opponent Mike Good. Mike Romeo would be the other semi finalist, the Quakertown PA racer runs a clean 74 Camaro with a 548 big block under the hood. He was qualified 21st and got the win over number four Mike Pyott in round three when he broke out by .08 after a .031 advantage on the tree. In the semis he faced off with number one qualifier Harry Gerb and put a .019 light in him and stay in front the rest of the way. Sailor would have his number in the final though with a nice .011 reaction to Romeo's .015, the final margin of victory would be a scant .008.

The final in this class would be Mitch George and Sam Gottier, numbers three and one qualifier respectively. George would get out first with a .013 and go on to a 4.57 @ 155 as Gottier slowed to a 4.60 @ 157.

Top Sportsman would have five rounds of racing with number four and five qualifiers meeting in the final. Tom Fontana had the quicker car with a 6.78 dial and Mike Kaufman dialed at 6.93.with Fontana having the better reaction time throught the day between the two and a semi final bye as well, running just .001 over dial. Kaufman would get out first when it was needed with a .028 and fontana would break out trying to catch up in a tight race.

Meanwhile Nate Pritchett was having luck go his way getting by two rounds on red lights and a win over Jason Enos in the third as his car simply shut off soon after the launch. Hall had a broke by in the semis after Doug Harris leaked and was pushed back, Sexton was dead late on the tree against a game Pritchett who had his best run of the weekend with a 4.66 @ 163, it just wasn't enough to stay in front of the hard charging 4.28 of Sexton. In the final it was Hall's turn to be late with a .229 light as Sexton marched to a 4.26 @ 182 and the event win.

X275 brought 48 cars to first round wading through his opponents with consistanf 5.0 and 4.9 performance. Richie Stine didn't have a great run in first round but advanced over Chris Ketler anyway then put up some 5.0's himself. Bruder was tested in the semi against Pete "Vader" Harrell who put up a 5.04 @ 150 but was a bit late on the tree, falling to Bruder's .018 4.89 @ 144 run. Stine was late as well vs. Ron Rhodes but a clean 4.98 @ 143 made up for it, sending him to the finals in Ricky Fox's 90 Mustang in it's first outing. The final had Stine late again with a .140 reaction, Bruder's .037 put him in front where he pulled out a holeshot win with a 4.994 to Stines quicker 4.990.

In the semis Jackson put a holeshot on Fiscus winning with a 4.52 @ 177 to the quicker 4.50 @ only 154, Fiscus must have lifted or lost power on the run. Vettros slowed as well to a 4.81 @ 148, still enough to get by Lambert's .83. In the final Vettros would have his best run of the day with a 4.49 @ 176 and the only other car in the 4.40's during eliminations as Jackson hazed the tires at 600 feet, slowing to a 4.53 @ only 163

Brad Edwards is sporting a new car this weekend. It's a 25.2 build by Team Z Motorsports with the same engine from the previous car.

Tony Ridenour was warming up the car this morning and will be running Outlaw Radial today ater running a personal best 4.54 last night.

Who could have guessed this is the gear set out of David Wolfe's car after his number one qualifier 4.35 @ 188 last night. A new ring and pinion and third member was installed last night.

Russel McManious qualified in eighth with a 5.02 and took the win over Bubba Harris.

Eric McMillen was on point and set high MPH for the round with a 154 MPH blast.

Jason Lee carried a wheelie way out in his win over Regan.

Kirk Hatley is driving Eric Kenward Wagon this weekend, he made it through round one with a 5.29 @ 134. Neil Hawkins set low ET and High MPH

The upset of the day was Don Burton getting the win over top qualifier David Wolfe. Wolfe spun early and Burton put up his only good run so far on the new combo, a 4.95 @ 154.

Mike Modeste lost traction early and did a great job of keeping the car in his lane and off the wall afterwards.

Kevin Fiscus had low ET for this round in his win over Jerry Conner. 4.53 @ 185.

Steve Jackson ran a 4.50 @ 178 on a opponent broke single over DJ Loicano.

Jason Wade rana 4.78 @ 160 with his Texas based Falcon over Tim Kincaid's 93 Mustang's 4.89 @ 158.

4.53 @ 184 for Dillard on a single with Buck Walker not making the call.

A 4.92 @ 154 for McMillen has tounges wagging about his exceptionally high MPH.

J.R. Gibson was dead late and wheelied out in a hard loss to Marty Stinnett who only ran a 6.11.

Alex Vettros had a nice 4.69 @ 170 to take out Jason Etheridge's 01 Mustang.

Holley No Boost winner Chad Henderson met with Francis Johnson in the final after defeating Jason Richards and Rickey Fox. Johnson put together a pait of 4.66's to get through Dave Boger and Ron Hamby. Top qualifier Brian Mchee fell off pace after a 4.54 @ 170 on his earned single. Henderson put up a .65 @ 155 to get around Johnson. Monte Smith made the announcement this weekend that there will be a No Boost class at future events.

Carneyville Kentuckey racer Adam Preston took down top qualifier in round two with a 5.33 @ 130 to Kirk Hatley's 5.37 @ 133. Kirk was driving Eric Kenward's Malibu wagon and congrats are in order to the Kenwards on the birth of their new child. Preston and Bart Tobener both had their best runs in eliminations 5.25 @ 132 for Preston and 5.29 @ 133 for Tobener.

Number three qualifier Gerime Rooks took home the Billet Atomizer Injectors Ultimate Street trophy Sunday advancing over Aaron Yates an absent Brian McQueen then put an .5.22 @ 136 to drive around Matt Davis in the semis. Preston slowed to a 5.39 in the final allowing Rooks to get around him.

TCI Outlaw Radial had a 24 car field with Steve Jackson leading the field. He improved every round from a 4.50 to a 4.43 in round three to get by Chad Henderson's .040 tree and 4.66 @ 155. He had a single and took the tree and backed out in the semi and ripped off a .40 flat @ 179 for the win over Dave Hinzman

Hinzman had his car running well as he also was improving through the rounds meeting with Chris Tedeschi in the semis. 4.55 to Tedeschi's personal best 4.59 @ 168. The number two qualifier left on Jackson running a game 4.51 @ 163 in the all Procharger final round.

TRZ Motorsports X275 had the largest field with over 50 cars on the grounds with more than one racer double entered in other classes. Top qualifier Justin Smith drove his car in Outlaw 275 with Bobby Flippen driving in Outlaw 275. Smith ran a string of 4.90's in eliminations with a best of a 4.90 @ 145 to defeat Chris Evans' game 4.98 @ 142. Bob Kurgan's 5.07 @ 142 wasn't enough to stay ahead of Smith's 4.92 @ 144. Smith ran a 4.89 @ 145 to defeat Pete Harrel.

Kevin Neal qualified fifth in VP Race Fuels Outlaw 275 with his Lebanon Ohio based 87 Mustang. Neal had fairley easy rounds untill he met with Dewayne Shultz's turbocharged Trans Am. Neal's 4.82 @ 151 was a good run for the hardcharging Shultz best effort 4.82 @ 161 MPH blast. Flippen fell to a 4.86 @ 150 in the semis and Joel Greathouse slowed to a 6.02 with both cars carrying the wheels in an exciting final round.

Greathouse was the number two car in class running a best of 4.76 @ 156 on a single in round three.

PTC Radial vs the World is why we are here in February and the performances were nothing short of astonishing with David Wolfe leading qualifying with a 4.35. Number two qualifier Eric Dillard put up a 4.56, a 4.47 and then a 4.404 @ 187 in a great race with Paul Major in round three. Major was on point with a career best 4.440 @ 177. A .001 tree and 4.48 @ 188 defeated Carlton Thompson who slowed to a 7.27. Dillard met with the super consistant Scotty Gaudagno in the final out running hi with a 4.41 @ 185 to Scotty's best game 4.511 @ 172.

Gaudagno tested the track in a round one bye as Shane Stack was out from a lost driveshaft in final qualifying. A nice 4.53 advanced over Ruben T. who shut it down after breaking an anti roll bar. Round three was nitrous vs turbo with Gaudagno outrunning Vrettos game 4.65 @168. He met with Brad Bonnette in the semis who put up his best 4.57 @ 170 to no avail with Scotty laying down another 4.51.

Brooksville, Florida racer Willy Waddy has his new X275 car here this weekend for some shakedown run on the motor. The 434 cubic inch small block Ford engine was built by Ford Performance Solutions and maintained locally by Ford Speed Racing who is one hand this weekend helping out with the car. Waddy plans to run the local X275 races at Sunshine and some occasional traveling.

Brett Newell from Lake Wales will face off with Dave French from Power Mad Racing in Outlaw 10.5 this morning. Both are old school 10.5 cars and also have competed in the Outlaw 632 class perviously as well.

Todd Brash from TRZ Motorsports starts his day off right with Monster energy drinks. TRZ is the title sponsor for the X275 class here this weekend.

Blankenship nailed the tree with a .007 light against Tim Hendricks and taking the win with a 5.23 to Hendricks .26.

Bruce Roberts got an easy win over Ari Birchfield after the car stalled on the line while Roberts went on to a 5.21 @137, his best run of the weekend so far.

John Fernandez had low ET again in round one this morning with a 5.001 @ 140 on a single. Clint Lonon keeps improving, taking the win over Antonio Santiago with a 5.03 @141.

Scott Husted skied the wheels on his first round single and came crashing down hard and shut it down and coasted to the end off the groove.

Tony Ridenour had a nice clean run this morning with a 4.64 @ 162 and will line up with tenth qualifier Dave Boger in round two.

Top Qualifier Mel Nelson is the picture of consistancy so far running another a 4.55 @ 173.

Tony Nesbitt got the win over Wade Gullett with a 4.78 @ 157.

Wells had low ET for the round with another 4.28 @ 185.

Jose Morel ripped off a 3.96 @ 187 on his single making him the lone 3 second Auto Pro Mod here this weekend. Good job guys.

Robert Mathis was looking to get into the threes and managed a decent 4.02 @ 182.

Scott Quesenberry lost on a red light to Kenny Burgess then shut if early.

Tindle put up low ET with a 3.92 @ 183 blast against Cersosimo's red light start.

Smith was puffing a little smoke out the left side but that didn't seem to effect his performance much as he took out Steve Drummand with a 3.94 @ 189 to 4.13 @ 186.

Tim Tindle went red with a -.007 light handing the win to Ricky Smith before it started. Smith ran a 3.95 @ 190 for top MPH of the event.

Bruce Roberts wound up with an opponent broke bye in the final as Fernandez' car was unable to start in the lanes. he ran a 6.12 @ 133 after breaking loose early int he run and pedaling it.

The Auto Pro Mod final had Morel shooting fire out of the scoop before the 60' marker and slowing to a 14.86 while Robert Mathis was .036 on the tree and 4.06 @ 181 in the lights taking the win.

Today startedoff with a round of bracket time trials and moved to the first round of index classes. The first heads up class downtoday will be the TAD cars running the 1/4 at over 200 MPH

Number 2 qualifier in Pro Mod Tony Pugliese got busy this morning making some changes to the 4 link settings. They were just wrapping up when I dropped by.

Kris Thorns also made some changes thanks to Hank Hill last night they got a good clean pass in running a 4.56 @ 157. They are planning to put some more power infor first roun where Thorne will face Ray Schuler's number qualified 68 Fulton powered Camaro.

Teammates Ken Cruz and Chris Mendola face off in round one of Automatic Pro Mod this morning. Mendola has the ET advantage but you never know what will happen. Good luck guys.

Pro Mod racer Mike Rein unpload this morning. Above him you can see some clouds associated with a front and a band of showers headed south. We hope they skip over but one never knows what mother nature will bring.

The X275 class has several cars bunched up with a 5,17 or better with Clint Lonon setting low ET for round one again today with a nice 5.02 @ 139 on his single. Kenward ripped off a clean 5.08 to take down Mike Fratena's wheelie prone Camaro and Pirez stepped it up to a 5.17 @ 136 against Snodgrass who backfired on the line. Freeman lost traction and pedaled the car several times over Steve Strobel's Vette. round two has the potential for some very close racing for sure.

Radial Tire saw Nelson rip off a 4.87 @ 162 despite getting the front in the air and pedaling the car twice to get it back on the ground against Dave Boger.

Troy Pirez also got the front in the air and wound up sideways in his match with Chad Opaleski's 66 Chevelle who will go on to round two. Husted took the win over hart with a 4.73 as Hart kicked the tires early and shut it down.

Carlton Thompson ran a 4.71 @ 165 over Archie Marasco.

Wells is on a roll in OL 10.5 ripping of a 4.28 @ 183 over Robert Logan's 69 Camaro

Jeff Ensslin took a lucky win over Richard Bligh as Bligh seems to have issues at the tree and simply drove down. Whitlow will have lane choice going against Brett Newell after getting by Adam Flamholc with a 4.69.

Sheldon Bissessar had low ET again in the Open outlaw class after getting the win over Matt Wirth who got up on the wheelie bars hard and a red light start.

Gilmore's pairing wasnt able to make it so he took the tree and drove down easy to save parts.

Auto Pro Mod cometitor Pat Queesenbery went left in a big way and wound up across the center line giving away an easy win after Kenny Burgess' red light in the other lane. Davis took out Markwart with a 4.12 to 4.27. Stringer laid down a decent 4.21 over Lykins Blown Camaro. Robert Mathis ripped off a nive 4.07 to take out Hansen's .008 light and 4.12. Mendola got the win over teammate Ken Cruz after Cruz had problems at the start.

Radial Tire had the nitrous car of Chad Opaleski and Carlton Thompson's turbocharged mustang in the final. Thompson was out first then Chad backfired through the scoop about 70 feet out shutting the car down allowing Thompson to cruise to victory with a 4.71 @ 163.

Rob Wells was on a string most of the weekend running a 4.27 @ 182 in the final to take out Brett Newell's 4.73 @ 155.

Outlaw 10.5 Runner Up - Brett Newell

Automatic Pro Mod pitted number one qualifier Ronnie Davis with number six Tom Stringer. Stringer went red with a -.021 as Davis went on to run a 4.11 @ 180 matching his semi final ET.

Pro Mod put number two and four against each other with Cersosimo having lane choice with his earlier 6.18 @ 227 over top qualifier Scott Braskett. Pugliese slowed to a 6.80 and "Fast" Frank put up another 6.19 to take the win.

Open Outlaw featured Sheldon Bissessar and Smith in the final with Bissessar having lane choice. he went wheels up however and had to pedal the car allowing Smith to get the win with his best run of the event, a 6.05 @ 230.

Top Alcohol Dragster final was Hialeah's own Bill Evans and Robin Samsel from Marion Indiana. Evans had low ET and top MPH going in and ran a 5.31 @ 272 as Samsel shut it down early.

Rod Burbage probably wasn't too many people's favorite to win Pro Street - Qualified sixth in the 32-car field, Burbage caught exactly the break he needed in the quarter finals when Mike Maggio went hugely red, then outran Ed Thornton end to end in the semis. That set up a blower vs. turbo final against Giuseppe Gentile, and when the Mustang driver got loose and had to lift, it was all over.

Mike Murillo had a steep hill to climb in Outlaw 10.5 - when the announcement went out that races would be shortened to half-track, everybody knew that Billy Glidden had been given a huge advantage due to his ADRL experience. Glidden's 4.278 in the second round against Dan Saitz seemed to bear that out, and there was some talk of "Billy has a 3.99 tune in his trailer..." Whether he did or not, Glidden apparently did some damage on that pass with pops of yellow flame from the right-side header, and against Murillo in the quarter-finals he could only muster a 94 against Murillo's rock-steady 4.360. A follow up 4.361 in a broke semi-final bye proved Murillo had a handle on it, and against Doug Sikora in the final, Murillo ran a slower 4.378 to Sikora's 4.309 but won on a holeshot.

Roger Holder qualified fifth in Extreme Drag Radial and worked his way through the 31-car field to meet number six qualifier Josh Lindsay in the finals. Lindsay gave up the leave, .066 to .041, but was pulling hard trying to catch Holder. Unfortunately for Lindsay, he ran out of track and went down 4.778 to 4.724, but carrying almost 6 mph over Holder through the traps.

Number 5 Limited Street qualifier Mark Washington made it to the finals Sunday night where he faced off against Mike Orban. Both drivers were slow on the tree, with Washington clocking a .101 and Orban a glacial .254. Washington ran the number - he had the quick time of eliminations with a 5.275 in the opening round, and only slowed a couple ticks in the final, clocking a 5.308 to Orban's 5.600.

Hot Street came down to a shootout in the finals between top qualifier Robbie Blankenship and number two on the ladder, Ron Dewild. Blankenship was slightly quicker beam to beam, running 5.245 to Dewild's 5.254, but reaction times decided it with Dewild taking the win on a holeshot.

George Raygoza earned a bye into the finals by defeating Ryan Jones in the quarters, then took home the win when Frank Vasela couldn't hook up in the finals, 6.415 to 6.934.

Don Bonahoom took the Street Challenge title over David Welker on a holeshot - his .021 reaction and 6.566 ET were more than enough to get around Welker's dead-late .220 but quicker 6.454 pass.

Nothing better than a cool morning sunrise over the track on eliminations day.

This big talk around the pits this last night and this morning is that Tony Christian announced yesterday that this will be his last race and he is thinking of puting a new driver in the car for future events. This comes as a suprise to many fans as Tony has been an icon of street legal raceing for many years. With this news we all know Tony wants to go out on top but Chris Rini might have something to say about that as word is they are looking for some teens during eliminations today. It's still early today to round him up for a chat but I'll catch up with Tony and crew later for some more on this topic.

Craig Pio took the number one spot in Outlaw 10.5 this weekend after getting some updates on the car at Josh McLeland's shop in Georgia. He went over the front suspension to help the weight transfer after the New York Motorsports team stuggled at last weekends race at SGMP. Pio had some consistant 60's with a string of 1.18's on a soft set up, gradually creeping up on the tune to make sure they got in the show. Then on Saturday they turned it up some to knock Lynch to second. They had several runs in the 6.70 range and then a 6.63 in the final session. Craig would like to thanks Dave Hance and Don Baily, Montana Brothers Chassis, Bobby from Outlaw Engines and the whole New York Motorsports crew for helping out.

Stanley Albritten Jr was servicing his transmission this morning. Stanley will be paired up against Rocky Raynor in the first round of Super Pro Street.

Orlando staple Tony the Sandman Williams team were hard at work prepping the car for eliminations. He will have lane choice over the 1963 Impala of Mike Holdridge in the first round.

Dave Morris and team were unloading his RJ Race Cars 1968 Camaro. Dave steadily improved on nearly every run and finished up ninth on the qualifying order.

Gary Langer was warming up his sweet 1955 Chevy this morning when we dropped by. The steel Chevy is motivated by an injected and supercharged 540 cubic inch Chevy. Gary squeaked into the field in the number 30 spot and will have an up hill battle in eliminations today.

Rick Prospero has his nova wagon solidly into the Drag Radial field in ninth. There are still nine Drag Radial cars left to qualify this morning that were left stranded last night due to an oil down. As soon as they make their runs we will have an updated ladder.

Number three qualifier Jerry Mitrovic hails from Toronto Canada and runs a small block Ford with twin Percision 94 MM turbos pushing air into the 450 cubic inch mill. They are happy witht he position given the smalllish engine in the class which was built in house at Mike Carrabs Mustang Alley. He founded the business in 95 and slowly got into racing since then. The team consists of Jerry Mitrovic, Mike Carrabs and engine builder Eddie Veros. He faces Orlando's own Mike Miller in round one.

In a last ditch effort to make the field Jeff Gibbud punched his way into the radial field this morning. His 10.03 was good enough for the 32nd and final spot.

Mike Holdridge and Tony Williams put on a show in the first round with Williams moving onto the next round.

Steve King rattled the tires so hard he shook the drivers door open but still managed to drive around Thorne to move into the second round.

Here are the pairings for round two of Super Pro Street

Frank Mewshaw had a large fire at the top end of the track in his win over Patrick Adams. Frank got the car stopped quickly and was able to exit the car safely. We will check in the pits to see if he will make the second round.

Tim Lynch went 6.72 in his new ZR1 Vette to move on to the second round.

Kevin Fiscus went low for the first round of Drag Radial, with a 7.65. In other new Steve Morris brushed the wall just before finish line in the big wagon, steve was able to drive through and brought the car safely to a stop with only minimal damage.

Phil Hines has his procharged mustang figured out. Hines dropped deep into the seven second zone in the first round of Heavy Street.

Luis Rivera ripped of a 7.17 in the first round in Extreme Import at only 187mph.

Michael Baghdadi all the way from Cordell Park, Australia ran a 7.40 with his 2000 Nissan to advance in Extreme Import 2.

Halvor Hanson Jr. was late on the tree in his match with Kenny Voss but put up a 6.29 @ 224 to get around Voss' 6.73 @ 208. Number one qualifier Chris Rini lost in the upset of the day after getting some severe tire shake and moving right towards the wall, then slowing to a 6.76 @ 214 to Rocky Raynor's 6.66 @ 207.

Gene Keer did his job on the tree in his 88 IROC Z to take out number 6 qualified Randy Jewell' twin turobcharged 68 Camaro. Jewell was way late with a .591 handing the win to Kerr's slower 7.07 @ 195 MPH.

Craig Pio ran a nice safe 6.85 @ 219 to take down Sandro Sementilli. He will me Jarvis in the next round after he made a move to the center line and lifted in a loss to Mark Kyger's Purple Nova. Lynch took out Floridian Pat Adams with a clean 6.71 @ 212.

Mitrovic was late and had tire shake and shut it down early against Dale Collins Jr. Engle won his round early with a red light by Amma.

Eric Kenward in his Malibu wagon beat Mackowski's mustang in the second round. Kenword will face the number one qualifier Mel Nelson next round.

Mike Schmidt is on a roll, two rounds of racing and two mid seven second runs. Schmidt will have lane choice over Norris in the third round.

Damon Chin set low ET and the track record for imports at the event with a 7.01 @ 199 as Rivera shut down and pulled off the side.

The other pair in Extreme Import was Herberto Santiago and Raul Reyes Buozo. Santiago left fires but moved out of the groove allowing Buozo to get around him to a winning 7.25 @ 188.

Miguel Ortiz had a single as Orlando Torres wasn't able to make the call for the round. He shut is early after mooving towards the center line.

Edwin Burgess left first against Michael Baghadi and went on to a 7.89 @ 164 to advance to the final with Ortiz' RX-7.

Tony Christian had a big back fire in the lights and cross into the left guard rail. Tony is out of the car and is ok but is done for the day. Rob is on his way to the top end for check on the situation. In the other notes Rocky Raynor made his best pass of the weekend to take out Jimmy Marino.

Jeff Lutz had a fuel leak inthe lanes and the staff allowed them a few minuites to see if they could make repairs before his match with Gene Kerr. Some great sportsmanship on the part of Kerr for waiting. The sourced the problem to leaking injector O-rings and got some replacements from Steve Petty.

Mark Kyger and Craig Pio had a barn burner of a race in their match up in Outlaw 10.5. Kyger was out first with an .035 light but Pio came around for the win with a 6.72 to Kyger's game 6.89

Mark Ingle was the last nitrous entry left in standing in Outlaw 10.5. Mark fell to Dale Collins Jr in the quarter finals.

Gene Kerr graciously waited for Jeff Lutz for the better part of a half hour. Gene was rewarded with a huge upset win when Lutz broke the rear about two hundred feet into the run.

Mel Nelson trailered Eric Kenwards popular wagon with a huge 211 mph blast.

Sam Gottier put a tree on Cape Coral racer Terry Duffy and marched on to a 7.34 @ 182. Walt Drakeford did his job as well but couldnt hold off the Procharged Mustang of Phil Hines despite his 7.63 best of the day pass. Drakeford made the switch to Heavy from Radial and was fighting tire shake on the gear change all day.

Jeff Lutz went into tire shake and the rear window popped out about 200 feet out as he went on to win the round over Townsend. Mike Schmidt gave the tree to David Norris and drove by to a 7.41 @ 180.

Super Pro Street Final will be Halvor Hansen Jr who had a bye run in the semis, verses Gene Kerr who has to be the Cinderella story of the event.

Sam Gottier will face Mike Schmidt in the final. Gottier will have lane choice with his 7.15 over Schmidt's 7.27

Gene Kerr shocked the world by laying down a .031 light combined with a 7.01 win Super Pro Street. Halvor Hansen will have to settle for runner up his quicker 6.81 was not enough to run down Kerr.

Dale Collins Jr is taking home the trophy and the big check in Outlaw 10.5. Tim Lynch broke on the burnout and staged his car anyway, but once the tree went green is was all Dale Collins.

Mel Nelson (far lane) won Drag Radial over Kenny Markwich in a pedal-fest. Mel managed to get his car to recover first and that was all he needed to take the stripe.

Raul Reyes Buozo will be taking the Extreme Import trophy back to his home town of Bayamin, Puerto Rico. The Lucimia team went round after round consistanly in the low sevens when others struggled to get down in elminations.

Sam Gottier was on a mission to avenge last years runner up finish. Not only did he do that, he did it with a 7.09 in the final, his best run of the weekend.

Daniel Pachar held on to the top spot in the Goodyear 8.5 class with a 5.17 @ 143. They are changing oil this morning as part of their daily maintance routine.

Isaid it was some great weather and there is nothing better than a sunrise over the track.

Tony Ridenour was down in Chad Henderson's pit this morning using the trailer lift to replace the transmission. He is struggling with a new combo this weekend after switching to twin F-2 prochargers from an F3 139 and is qualified 54th.

This is the first race weekend on radials for Eric Dillard and with only nine passes with them he is solidly in the 4.40's and qualified second in class with a new personal best 4.48. The Proline team gets lots of data from other cars and know the tire is faster under the right conditions and didn't want to come here at a disadvantage. They are also sporting new Pro Mod 94 mm turbos here this weekend which came just in time for this race. The set up on the car is quite different than when running the slick tires with a shorter 4 link setting as well as tighter suspension settings and Eric feels with 10 or 15 more runs they can run a .35-.39. Eric feels that at the end of the day they can get into the low .40s and if they make the final with Wolfe that they will make a match of it.

Gary Bunch uinladed a personal best 4.98 to take out Glen Jones in X275

Greg Trotta had an engine let go in the lights creating the first oil down of the day. We are back at it now.

Jerry Gunter got out first by about two tenths but couldn't hold off Buck Walker's third gen Camaro.

Bennis Bailey from BB&T had a single this morning after Team North Member Mustang Mike Modeste was unable to make the call. Other team North players Dave hance, Dave hinzman and Paul Major will hold the fort for round two.

After putting up some good number this weekend Shane Stack is out after being un able to back up against Craig Pio.

Dennis Bailey crashed on the top end of the track after getting into a wheel stand going through the lights. Air got under the car and it blew over and went over the wall. he was knocked unconscious temporarily and atended to by the safety crew. He is awake and being transported to the local hospital to be checked out.

Buck walker won on a holeshot over Jerry Gunter after Gunter was about two tenths late on the tree

Wolfe had a bye and laid down a 4.42.

number 60 qualifier Bryan Sandler gets the upset award taking out Stevie Fast. Sandler was out first and jackson lost traction then had to pedal the it and was unable to catch up.

Jere Ethridge took down Paul Major on a hole shot running a 4.74 to Major's quicker 4.63.

jason Lee lost his round two match in TRZ Ultimate Street with Steve Hopkins after this wheelstand.

Chad Henderson broke in the 4.70's today and then was DQ'd after crossing the centerline against Chad Opaleski in a great diving job to avoid a crash.

Dennis Smith over Robin Duncan in the rematch of Saturday night 7.50 Final.

Kenny Acree took the win over Dillon Voss in 5.30 index despite Voss dead on dial.

Trace Meyer Goodyear 8.5 Runner Up

The Goodyear 8.5 final featured the record setting Trace Meyer and the number one qualifier Daniel Pachar. Pachar's Triangle Speed Shop 04 Cobra had high MPH of the event and Meyer had set and reset the 8.5 record with a 5.11. Pachar had the advantage on the tree and held it with a 5.16 @ 143 run.

Eric Kenward TRZ Ultimate Street Runner Up

In TRZ Ultimate Street it would be top qualifier Robert Hollingsworth vs. ORSCA Modified Street Champion Eric Kenward. Kenward had lane choice and put an .016 light on Hollingsworth but promply went into a giant wheelstand allowing Robert to get around.

Terry Elam FTI X275 Runner Up

FTI X275 had stellar performances and no small amount of controversy. Kolivas had low ET and hi MPH but took a hard loss in round one. Wes Whittle made it ringt and proceeded to the final to meet with the number twocar of Terry Elam. Elam had lane choice with a 4.7 going in but slowed to a .81 against Whittle's best run of the night 4.78 @ 154.

SHRA Outlaw 10.5 pit top qualifier tim Lynch and number 14 Danny Lowery. Lowery put up a 4.30 and then a 4.28 to get by Rob Wells who had qualified second and got out of the groove in the semi. Lowery left first in the final but slowed to a 4.68, no match for Lynch's 4.25.

Mel Nelson Protorque Outlaw Radial vs 29.5 Runner Up.

The talk of the day was the .40 Wolfe qualified with and Dillard's 4.48. Not to be out done Mel nelson laid down a 4.480 @ 170 to take down New York's own David Hance's game 4.600 @ 173. Thompson took down Dillard on the tree with a 4.61 against a quicker 4.60. Mel left first and it was his turn to get some air under the tires and he slowed to a 5.03 while Wolfe ran a 4.42 @ 179 for the win.

Round three of Real Street Ronnie Wilson getting the win over Troy Fredrickson but he lost a driveshaft and passed up the scales giving troy the win. Shearin didn't make the call with Losee giving him a bye to the final. Troy Fredrickson gets the Real Street win with a 5.52 to Losee's 5.79 pedal job.

Mel Nelson took down the last nitrous car with a 4.78 @ 162 to Opaleski's 4.92 @ 151. chad's father Andrew has been tuningthe car for a while now and the consistancy is showing now. Husted and Stevenson were the other pair left but husted didn't make the call and Stevenson went down easy to save parts. In the final Stevenson would get away forst with a .062 light but it wasn't enough to hold off the turbos 169 MPH top end charge. 4.74 for Nelson, 4.78 for Stevenson in a close race.

Tim Lynch put up a 4.32 @ 182 in the semis to get by Tony Johnson's roots blown Camaro despite his perfect .000 light. Wells and Lowery faced off in the other pair with Wells running a 4.51 to Lowery's off pace 7.60 shut down run. Nearly identical reaction times for Wells and Lynch in the final with Lynch having a .002 advantage. Lynch ran another 4.32 @ 183 while Wells lost traction at half track slowing to a 4.79.

Eddie Careccia had a close race with Alberigi in the semis driving by with a 3.92 @ 91 to 3.98 @ 188 despite loosing the wing early in the run. Hutson red lit on her single and ran a nice 3.85 @ 189. The final would get interesting as Careccia had no wing to aid in planting the tires ont he top end. Melissa would get away first with a nice .025 and running a 3.82 @ 189, her light was enough to hold off Careccia's 3.79 @ 196 for top MPH of the event.
