Pelech Bros. Camaro Looks To Make a Come-back Before The Close of 2010
Late 2009 was one of the Pelech Bros. roughest racing tours to date, fighting a car with multiple electronics issues and the absence of traction made their NMCA finals everything but fun with their only high point being one clean 7.27 pass at Milan testing. For 2010, the Pelech Bros. are making a bunch of changes.
After crashing his 1969 Firebird in Milan’s All Motor class in August of 2008 Dave Theisen is headed back after getting the car repaired by Jim Powski Racecraft with some more power under the hood thanks to Chris Uratchko Racing. With the new setup David is looking for 8.40’s with a future eye on NMCA Pro Stock.
Kevin Parent Returns to Nostalgia Pro Street with Backing from Dart
Last year Kevin Parent came off a strong year in Nostalgia Pro Street, though behind the scenes things weren’t going as well. Kevin was running on borrowed time with tired parts and he was just exhausted himself. In the off season Kevin had posted everything for sale and it was a bit of a shock with how well he did in 2009, though the given circumstances were understandable. When Dart Heads saw the car for sale, they immediately contacted Kevin.
Don Baskin has taken delivery of his new 2010 Camaro for NMCA Pro Stock competition and will test today and tomorrow before a possible debut next weekend at the NMCA Nationals in Reading, PA.
NMCA Pro Street and ADRL Pro Nitrous racer Joe Dunne recently completed a successful test session that included a 6.19 lap at Beech Bend Raceway Park before the rains almost literally consumed the track. Dunne and crew were testing a new prototype Pro Torque converter in their 860 cubic inch Pat Musi-powered Camaro.
Billy and Shannon Glidden are burning the midnight oil at their Whiteland, IN shop to get their 2010 Mustang with a new 528 cubic inch Sonny Leonard mill under the hood ready to head south to Bowling Green, KY for the NMCA event.
The first weekend in March is time for the NMCA season opener in Bradenton, Florida, and once again for the fourth year in a row rain put a damper on the event. Of course that did not stop the great racing, just postponed the eliminations until Monday. We opened up with some nice weather for Friday’s test session. Check out the recap from the race weekend.
It is like clock work at the NMCA season opener in Bradenton. Every year, for the last 4-5 years, it has rained on Sunday. Nothing different this year, though trying to run and end the race at 1 am, the Promedia staff decided to run the race today. The weather looks very good for today with clear skies and a slight breeze from the south west.
Jason Scrugg’s Stratus is in new hands today, a proven badass ADRL ride has been transformed into an even cooler NMCA Pro-street rocket ship with the help of a F3R Procharged HEMI power plant. Look for this car to be a serious contender when the season opener in Bradenton rolls around at the end of the month..
The weekend of October 16-18th brought the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association’s Second Nostalgia Drags to Bowling Green KY.
