Labor Day weekend signifies the annual running of the sports most stories and prestigious event, the NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis. Meanwhile, the inaugural YellowBullet.com Nationals took place at Cecil County Dragway, and the NMRA set the stage for the battle for class championships in Columbus.


Larry Dixon kept his perfect final round streak alive Monday by racing to his 10th win of the season at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil, the world’s most prestigious drag race. Ashley Force Hood, Greg Stanfield and LE Tonglet also were winners in their respective categories.


Possibly the most anticipated race of the year for many will be happening this weekend at Cecil County Dragway. The Yellow Bullet Nationals is a race from within a forum, www.yellowbullet.com – which is unofficially the largest site on the internet for heads up, doorslammer racing.


A packed house and great racing action was the result of the NMCA’s trip to Milan Dragway in Milan, MI the weekend of August 27-29, 2010. As this is the NMCA’s sixth race of seven, the points chase in each class was on the line and the end result was some fantastic racing action.


Chris Rini led the list of winners as the NMCA visited the Milan Dragway in Milan, MI, the IHRA Nitro Jam rolled into Maryland International Raceway, and the NHRA Lucas Oil Series saw a full slate of events in Kansas, Kentucky, and Maryland. Also, last weekend the San Antonio Raceway held the Ultimate Grudgefest.


Atomic Dog put on one of the biggest grudge races in Texas history along with some heads up classes. The race was put on at San Antonio Raceway on August 21 to a huge crowd of race fans. There were a couple of bracket classes, 5.80 and 7.00 index classes, a True 10.5 class and a Pro Mod class.


We’ve all been accustomed to the surroundings of Maple Grove Raceway nestled in the mountainous area of Pennsylvania. Annually there comes a show to the Grove that states the obvious; “The Rumble At The Grove” featuring the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association.


The heat was out in force for the event, but that didn’t keep the spectators or participants away. Car count was the highest we’ve seen in at the event in recent years and, at just about any point through the weekend, the drag strip staging lanes were at capacity.


Bob Bode scored one for the underdogs as the NHRA closed out the regular season at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, the IHRA Nitro Jam visited Martin, MI, the WCHRA raced under the lights in Arizona, and the Outlaw Radial competitors converged on Maryland International Raceway.


Underdog Bob Bode broke through for his first career win in Funny Car the NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN as the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series wrapped up the final race of the regular points season. Larry Dixon, Jeg Coughlin, and Andrew Hines also emerged victorious.


The NMRA and NMRA series converged upon the state-of-the-art zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC for the All Star Nationals, the second combined event in as many races on the schedule, where the two exciting head up series showcased exciting wheel-to-wheel action and some surprise winners.


Outlaw Drag Radial fans rolled into Maryland International Raceway om Friday the 13th for some great heads up action. Seventeen cars went after it to try and gain the number one spot and win the race. Francis Johnson was number one after qualifying. Come on inside to see if he won the race.


The NMRA and NMCA contested their second of two combined events with the All Star Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, NC, NHRA Unleashed visited O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Cecil Countey Dragway held its popular Street Car Shootout, ADRL at St. Louis, and NHRA and IHRA Divisional action.
