To the average fan, drag racing might look extremely simple. Build a high horsepower engine, slap it into a car, mash the gas when the light turns green, and lay down a good time. But there is so much more that goes into each pass than what the average fans sees. We were shown one example of this at Penske Racing Shocks booth at PRI 2011, when they showed us their triple adjustable drag racing shock.
The 8760 Series shocks is a professional level drag racing shock and is available in a piggyback or remote style mount. It gives teams three methods of adjustments to help tackle starting line conditions. Teams are able to adjust the high and low speed compression settings, and also the rebound settings. “The high speed compression adjuster typically used to tune the car from track to track,” explained drag racing manager Aaron Lambert. “While the low speed compression adjuster is used to fine-tune the chassis in between rounds.”
