Putting heat in your nitrous bottles so they perform their best can be done in the car via a bottle heater, or in your trailer with a water bath system. To make the trailer method easier, Applied Racing Components (ARC) has an expanded line of water bath systems for nitrous bottles that will safely add pressure to your bottles.

ARC begins the process of fabricating their water bath system by using heating elements they make in-house. Eric Breihan from ARC breaks down how the process works.

“Since ARC makes heating elements, we can use one of our own cartridge-style units in the water bath system. These elements aren’t like the ones you see used in a home hot water heater that will burn out in an application like this. This allows the ARC water bath system to get the bottles up to temperature reliably and repeatedly. This can be a huge advantage for bracket racers who use nitrous that needs a bottle to be ready in a hurry. Often, they will be in a round robin situation later in eliminations and need bottles that are almost ready to go.”

The ARC water bath will heat the water to around 97 degrees and assist the bottle in reaching an optimal 1050 PSI safely. These heaters can help the bottles maintain this pressure throughout a race day two at a time as well. Two of the units that ARC produces even have controllers that will turn on and off to make sure the water will stay at the correct temperature to keep a consistent pressure in the bottles.
