Vortech and Paxton might be produced in a similar place, but they uniquely have their own branding. Rightfully so, even with their 2011 Mustang kit, each company has their own spin. First, Vortech is celebrating their 20th year by presenting their kit in a all-black powder coating finish for a stealth look, though it can also be purchased as a polished kit.
The molded intake tube utilizes the stock air box to comply with CARB emissions, though they will also offer a non-CARB legal, higher flowing intake soon. Both kits share the supercharger drive from the accessories that tie in with a larger serpentine belt. A large front mount intercooler drop the intake charge temperatures before being ingested into the combustion chamber. Both kits come with a custom designed SCT tune that will keep the boosted Mustangs running like stock.
Where the kits become different is the supercharger that comes with them. The Vortech kit will come with a V3-SI Trim supercharger that is capable of producing around 775HP, though can be upgraded to their 825HP capable V-1 T-Trim unit. The Paxton kit comes with a higher output, 1000HP capable NOVI-2200SL. We have seen over 660 RWHP produced with the Paxton kit.
Both kits come with the optional three year, 36,000 mile limited powertrain warantee.
