The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will return for its 12th season in 2013, with 45 events scheduled to take place across the country in the seven geographic divisions and four regions for Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car competitors. The regional schedule will feature 24 events in total, while the divisional calendar will include a minimum of six events in each of the seven divisions. Highlights of the 2013 Lucas Oil Series will be the addition of two double events — two divisional races contested on the same weekend — and the return of the Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City to the NHRA divisional lineup.

The 2013 calendar will kick off with the Southeast division opener at Auto-Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. on February 15-17 and conclude with the Pacific division finale at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 31-November 1.

Up for grabs will be a $500,000 purse in addition to regional, divisional, and national championship points in the Top Alcohol categories, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street. The newly created NHRA Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series will also join the mix with Top Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin’ Bagger, and other exciting Harley-Davidson two-wheeled classes participating.

The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will again feature three sportsman-only national events (the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals, the JEGS NHRA Pacific SPORTSnationals, and the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals) along with the annual$100,000 JEGS Allstars and other bonus programs such as the NHRA Perfectly Strange Award.
