The year 2015 will go down in drag radial racing history with the debut of the Radial Tire Racing Association (RTRA) which will satisfy the need for a professionally run points series in the continuously growing drag radial racing scene.  This association will provide racers, fans and manufacturers involved in radial racing the credibility and stability needed moving forward as well as intense Championship battles which will intensify the experience for everyone involved.  Formed by Gene Nicodemus and Rodney Whatley of Texas, the RTRA series committee also includes respected radial racers Shane Fisher, Justin Curry, Taylor Lastor, Dwayne Mills and Jason Michalak.  Classes being contested in the 2015 RTRA six race season will be Outlaw 315, X275 and Limited 275.

The RTRA series will kick off March 12-14th with the RTRA Texas Radial Round Up at North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas which has become a track well known to radial racers across the Southwest for it’s record setting capabilities.  Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park showed no hesitation in getting involved, recognizing the potential of the RTRA, adding the series to it’s always impressive line-up at the annual Throwdown In T-Town events in May and October and Radial Revenge Tour in July.  North Star Dragway will host two additional RTRA events, the TurboBullet.com Radial Rebellion in June and the RTRA Championship Finals in late October.

TEXAS RADIAL ROUND UP – March 12-14th – North Star Dragway – Denton, Tx

THROWDOWN IN T-TOWN – May 14-16th – Tulsa Raceway Park – Tulsa, Ok

TURBOBULLET.COM RADIAL REBELLION – June 25-27th – North Star Dragway – Denton, Tx

RADIAL REVENGE TOUR – July 24-25 – Tulsa Raceway Park – Tulsa, Ok

THROWDOWN IN T-TOWN – October 8-10 – Tulsa Raceway Park – Tulsa, Ok

RTRA CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS – October 22-24 – North Star Dragway – Denton, Tx

With the six event points series confirmed for 2015, the RTRA plans to develop a northern division this year and debut the new division in 2016.  With a Northern and Southern division, the RTRA series hopes to eliminate the need for teams to travel cross country to experience and compete at this level in a points program.  Plans also include a North vs. South Division Showdown to close the 2016 season, additional details will be announced later this year.

Atop the six points races, the RTRA will host a “Shootout” program at the final event of the season in October at North Star Dragway.  Drivers in all three classes will earn points based on their final qualifying position at the first five events.  The top eight points earners will automatically be entered into an elimination field where they will compete during the qualifying rounds of the final event for an extra bonus purse.
