The Dodge Ram SRT-10 pickup truck was anything but a slouch straight from the factory. Unlike the standard Ram trucks on the street, this one was built completely with performance in mind. With the venerable Dodge Viper’s 8.3-liter V10 engine under the hood, this truck laid waste to literally any truck in its path and more than its fair share of muscle cars with its 500 horsepower and 525 ft-lbs of torque. Making one horsepower for every 10.3 pounds of weight and a boasting a top speed of 154 MPH, the truck was a certifiable terror.
The guys at the Automatic Transmission Factory decided recently to take an already stellar performer and make it even better. But not just a little better, but a beast in every sense of the word.
This SRT-10 truck is receiving custom twin 76mm water and coil-cooled, ball bearing, billet wheel, ceramic coated turbochargers and will also utilize a custom ATF front-mounted intercooler. ATF hopes to produce in excess of 1,200 horsepower once complete. ATF developed a custom dual EFI system for the truck to pump the 93 octane fuel into the engine when at half throttle, and then kick in a secondary fuel system at full throttle to deliver the more power via leaded racing fuel. On the street, the guys at ATF plan to turn the turbos at a manageable 7 psi of boost. She’ll still kick around nearly anything on the street at that level, but we can’t wait to see them turn the wick up on the drag strip.
