Cagle Motorsports Back In Action After Devastating 2011 Crash

Cagle Motorsports and driver Tori Cagle revealed this week that they will be back in action this week after a devastating crash last summer.

Competing alongside veteran Pro Modified pilot Tim Tindle last July at the Holiday Beach Dragway in Woodstock, Ala., the pair became entangled beyond mid-track, sending Cagle’s machine on a horrific ride over the guardrail and into the finish line scoreboards at incredibly high rate of speed. Cagle emerged from the wreckage, but the destruction to his race car sidelined the team for more than a full year as they worked to put together a new mount. The events surrounding the crash were rather controversial and well-publicized as both team’s verbally spoke out against one another in the wake of the accident.

The Cagle Motorsports team has since acquired a new Tim McAmis Race Cars-built ’68 Camaro that weighs in 150-pounds lighter than the team’s former car, complete with a brand new nitrous-huffing powerplant.

Cagle and team are making plans to compete with the Extreme Outlaw Pro Modified series (EOPM), beginning with their official return to competition at this weekend’s event at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, Va., Saturday August 11. “Racing at VMP brings back a lot of special memories for me, my wife and my family,” said Tori.
