This is Chevy-on-Chevy crime, and we don’t think this is the kind of T-bone Tommy Callahan was talking about in the movie Tommy Boy. Outside of the steak-variety, any mention of a T-bone is not a good thing. When it happens at the drag strip it’s an especially bad situation, as most people don’t carry an automotive insurance policy covering drag racing. That’s why when some people have an on-track “incident,” they push, pull, or drag the car outside the gates and give it the old that-deer-came-outta-nowhere story.
Of course, that’s ten ways to illegal, and may not end well, but we’re not here to teach right and wrong. We’re here to bring you cool stories or videos, and our friends at Urban Hillbilly Action Videos definitely have cool videos in spades. This incident caught on tape (from two angles, no less) we wish would’ve never happened, though, and we’re sure the drivers in this video feel the same.
It appears the Chevelle spun right out of the gate, and the driver never lifted, pedaled it, or anything. Well, at least until he was so out of shape that he knew there was no turning back. By then it was too late. The Camaro was unable to get out in front of the spinning Chevelle, so when it took a left turn, it used the Camaro’s door to help cushion the blow against the guardrail. Unfortunately, the Chevelle not only hit the guardrail, it also rode it like Sea Biscuit for quite a ways.
Safe to say both cars looked pristine before the incident, but afterwards…not so much. That’s going to be an expensive repair bill.
