Carolina N/T Racing Exhibition Scheduled At NHRA Four-Wide Nationals

Lance Stanford and Travis Harvey introduced the world of No Time racing to a points series in 2017 with their Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Tour. Small Tire racers from all over the southern United States got to experience the challenge of a grudge racing points series. Now for 2018, not only is the Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Tour back, but they will be running an eight-car shootout exhibition at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at Z-Max Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing the excitement of No Time racing to the big stage.

Before the Carolina N/T Tour came to life, Stanford and Harvey had been putting on No Time style races for over a decade. They began with having just two races a year at Piedmont Dragway but the idea of taking their races to other tracks became a viable option so they made it happen.

“We wanted to develop something to give back to the racers who have been supporting us from day one. So we came up with the Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Tour as the first-ever No Time points series. We made the choice to use different tracks so our fans and racers can have an event in their backyard at some point on the schedule,” Stanford says.

With that idea as their base, the duo founded the Carolina N/T Tour for racers in the Carolina region that wanted to race locally on a budget. The series brings some of the fastest No Time cars out to compete in the series shootouts and get some good old fashioned grudge racing in, too. Racers enjoy this series because it only has one or two days of racing so they can be home more, while still racing at top level tracks like GALOT Motorsports Park, Piedmont Dragway, Darlington Dragway and Virginia Motorsports Park.

The hard work that Stanford and Harvey have put into their series has clearly paid off — the NHRA took notice of the popularity of this style of racing in the region and invited the Carolina N/T Tour to put on a show for their fans alongside the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series professionals.

“This deal with the NHRA at Z-Max came about because they want to show off our brand of racing to the NHRA fanbase. It’s an honor for the NHRA to select us for this event and we plan to bring some great cars to promote our series. Fans can expect to see some of the baddest No Time 29/315 cars on the planet,” Stanford explains.

With the popularity of No Time racing in the South, it was a no-brainer for the NHRA to bring this racing to their event. The Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Tour has already shown it can pack the stands with fans and fill the lanes with great racecars, and now they will help bring heads-up racing to some new fans at an NHRA event.
