When it comes to cool auto customization, most people will usually think of legend George Barris and his wild creations like his AMX 400, “Invader” roadster and so many movie and TV machines. But few know of this little gem, the Sharkdragster.
This bizarre concoction of a custom chassis and an air-cooled VW four-banger and a whole lot of chicken wire, body filler and fiberglass is sure to never be mistaken for anything else!
Spotted over on Craigslist.com, current owner, Derrick Allbritton has also got a Facebook page documenting the Sharkdragster as well as plenty of other unique creations, including a Cobra built for a James Bond movie back in the 70′s with a 289 motor and riding on an Indiana Plus racing frame – all of which are for sale to the willing customer.
While’s there’s really not a lot of information available on this wild sea creature-turned-1320 machine, we do know that the Sharkdragster was built for an international car show in Germany and was finally brought across the pond to America, where Allbritton paid $15,000 for it.
