To say that CFE Racing and its customers in the NHRA professional and sportsman ranks had a great year would be quite the understatement. Because a pair of world championships and a truck bed load of national and divisional events wins is a heck of a season any way you slice it.
The most obvious, of course, is Erica Enders-Stevens, who captured her first NHRA Mello Yello world championship in Pro Stock — and a historic one at that, as she became just the third female professional champion in history. The Elite Motorsports in-house engine ship, led by Nick Ferri and Jake Hairston, relied on CFE CNC ported heads and billet intake manifolds to power Enders-Stevens to five wins on the season and four No. 1 qualifying efforts.
In all, CFE-equipped races qualified atop the field sixteen times — that list including Shane Gray, Allen Johnson, Chris McGaha, Jeg Coughlin, and Dave Connolly. The winners list looked much the same, as ray and brother Jonathan, Johnson, Connolly, and Coughlin all picked up victories.
In the NHRA Lucas Oil Series, feared racer David Rampy collected the world championship in Competition Eliminator with his bantam Altered, capturing a pair of national event wins and a division triumph during the season. He also won twice in Super Stock for good measure. In all, thirteen wins in Competition Eliminator and five in Super Stock were recorded with CFE Racing components onboard.
