Chris Cadotto and his badass roots-blown Outlaw 10.5 Dodge truck known as the “Brick” didn’t have a stellar end to 2015 after a nasty fire and crash caused extensive damage to the pickup. The fan favorite had a few burns, a hurt hot rod, and an uncertain future. But now, it looks like Cadotto and the Brick will be back in 2016 and better than ever after going on a diet with the addition of some carbon fiber components and some serious horsepower to the top end of his engine.
Cadotto’s Dodge has been a fixture at Milan Dragway in the Outlaw 10.5 class for years, winning the track points title and setting records as the quickest full-size truck in the world. Weighing in at 2,800 pounds, the Brick has ripped off a best lap of 4.16 in the 1/8-mile and 6.59 at 212 mph in the 1/4-mile on a 10.5W tire
When it came time to rebuild, Cadotto and his team kicked things off right with some new engine jewelry from Brad Anderson Enterprises, in the form of some Stage 8 Hemi heads for his truck.
In addition to the heads, Cadotto added a much bigger injector hat to feed the hungry Hemi all the boosted air it cn handle. With these improvements the truck should be picking up close to 200 horsepower, according to Cadotto.
Putting the Brick on a diet was also top priority, so things like the hood, doors, interior, and even the valve covers all got the carbon fiber treatment to shave off as much weight as possible.
Cadotto estimates that he’s removed close to 110 pounds off the truck for 2016 with his weight saving regiment this winter.
Cadotto’s plans for racing include running the Friday Night Heads Up series at Milan, the monthly Cecil County Outlaw 10.5 program, and has every intent ofpunching the Brick into the 3.90 zone. Look for Cadotto and his fan favorite truck to be back on the track and making noise very soon.
