Fans of fast doorslammer racing in America’s heartland will once again hear the roar of nitrous-injected, supercharged, and turbocharged Pro Modifieds in their own backyards in 2012, as the Chris Duncan Race Cars Pro Mod Super Series recently unveiled its new schedule and additional information regarding the sophomore season of the popular midwest series.

The 2012 Pro Mod Super Series schedule currently boasts five events from May to September, beginning with the Door Slammer Shootout at the Eddyville Raceway Park in Eddyville, IA May 25-26, and concluding back at the Eddyville facility on Sept. 21-22. In between, the series will travel to the Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Ill. for Door Warz June 15-16 and the fabled World Series of Drag Racing Aug. 24-25. Cedar falls Raceway in Cedar Falls, IA will also play host the Pro Mod Super Series during the annual Night of Fire on July 20-21. Series officials indicate negotiations are ongoing to expand the 2012 schedule beyond it’s current five-race tour.

Eddyville hosted the series’ inaugural event last June, where longtime doorslammer competitor and former street legal drag racing champion Randy Adler claimed the first-ever Chris Duncan Pro Mod Super Series crown when he downed “Fast” Eddie Rogers and his Duncan-built 2006 Corvette. Adler and Rogers traded blows over the course of the season as one or the other earned the victory at every race, but when the dust cleared, it was Rogers who claimed the season championship. Rogers added win at the season-ending World Series of Drag Racing and a series record 3.95 elapsed time to his season credentials, as well.

The Chris Duncan Pro Mod Super Series is open to any year and make of vehicle and limited to a single power adder with no minimum weight restrictions. The series will once again offer a season-ending points fund in addition to the single event payouts.
