Dalton Millican, the 22-year old son of popular Top Fuel racer Clay Millican and wife, Donna, was killed on Wednesday night in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident near the familys’ Drummonds, Tennessee home.
Said the family in a prepared statement: “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we let you know that late last night we lost our beloved son, Dalton Millican, age 22, in a single-person motorcycle accident close to our hometown of Drummonds, Tenn. We are heartbroken by the tragic loss to our family. We appreciate all of your love and support as we navigate through the very difficult road ahead. Funeral arrangements are pending and we will announce those once they have been finalized. We ask for your continued love and prayers and privacy at this time.”
Like his father, a six-time IHRA Top Fuel world champion, the younger Millican was bitten by the motorsports bug at an early age and had already forged quite the career for himself. During his childhood, he traveled across the country racing with his father, while spending his spare time racing BMX bikes and riding skateboards. He later transitioned into power sports, racing competitively on ATV’s, where he ultimately won the AMA ATVA National Racing Series title.
Most recently, Millican had been forging his own path to stardom in the Monster Jam series, driving the Blue Thunder monster truck and ATV’s in front of crowds nationwide.
We offer our sincerest condolences to Millican, his wife, and son Cale on their tragic loss.
