Diamond Pistons has been putting out high-quality racing parts for nearly 50 years, and over that span of time racers have come to rely on their pistons to help aid in the performance combustion process and make some serious power. Recently, the company’s products have been utilized in cars that have made some amazing passes, reset records, and captured national event glory.
One of the more interesting cars using Diamond’s products is the D3 Performance-built “White Rice” Nissan 240SX. This car is powered by a 3.2 liter Toyota 2JZ engine that uses Diamond’s products inside. Currently, the car is seeing over 60 psi of boost and is making 1,800 horsepower to the tires, and cracking off seven-second passes at over 180 mph. The car is particularly well known around the streets of Houston, Texas, and has also been a part of some No Prep events in the Lonestar State.
Wade Moody and the NGM Diesel Racing Engines team really put their Diamond Pistons to the test in their wild Top Diesel dragster. Moody was able to capture the NHRDA Midwest Truckin’ Nationals title by defeating Jared Jones in the final round. If that wasn’t enough, Moody also became the first Duramax-powered vehicle to crack the six-second barrier at the event.
Diamond Pistons racer Billy Glidden left the world of nitrous oxide Pro Mod racing recently and accepted an offer to jump behind the wheel of the Precision Turbo sponsored and owned Chevrolet Camaro. Glidden has made the most of the change by laying down some impressive passes, highlighted by a victory at the NHRA Summit Nationals Pro Mod title at Norwalk with Diamond Pistons onboard.
Another racer who has used Diamond’s products with great success is radial tire superstar Jamie Hancock. Over the years, Hancock has been a big player in the nitrous world, winning an ADRL championship and setting multiple records on a radial tire. Hancock added another trophy to his case with his Outlaw Radial Shootout victory at Shadyside Dragway in North Carolina.
