PDRA racing is coming back to Maryland International Raceway May 3-5 for the PDRA North-South Shootout. Last year, this event provided great side-by-side racing and thrilling action all weekend long, and the 2018 installment promises to be even bigger. The PDRA opened the 2018 season at GALOT Motorsports Park with the East Coast Nationals, an event that was packed with upsets when eliminations began. With so many heavy-hitters going down early at GALOT, there will be extra pressure to do well and go rounds at the North-South Shootout. The racing will be intense at MDIR, so the fans will be getting one heck of a show when the action begins.

Pro Boost will be one of the most exciting classes to watch at the North-South Shootout. Every round of racing feels like a final round with tough competitors like Jeremy Ray, Marc Caruso, Chuck Ulsch, and Tommy D’Aprile all calling this class home. There will be loads of boosted three-second passes ripped off when the Pro Boost class comes to the starting line at MDIR May 3-5.

Fans will get to see the fastest nitrous-assisted hot rods in the world do battle in the PDRA Pro Nitrous class at the North-South Shootout. Every year this class gets tougher as racers push their rides harder and that will continue at MDIR. Jay Cox will be on the property trying to keep his 2018 winning streak going as he takes on the likes of Jim Halsey, Tommy Franklin, Jason Harris and Lizzy Musi, who all have their eyes on the Pro Nitrous championship.

The Pro Extreme class will be one to watch as the quickest and fastest racers in the PDRA attack the MDIR surface. With plenty of traction on hand records could fall as racers try to dip into the 3.40 range at the North-South Shootout. Jason Scruggs will try to make his way back to championship form against the likes of Terry Leggett, Adam Flamholc, and other Pro Mod hitters.

Racers in Pro Extreme Motorcycle and Extreme Pro Stock will also be at the 2018 PDRA North-South Shootout. These two professional classes require racers to have cat-like reflexes on the starting line and tons of horsepower-fed muscle to find the winner’s circle. Both Elijah Morton in Extreme Pro Stock and Rodney Williford in Pro Extreme Motorcycle want to back up their East Coast Spring Nationals victories at the North-South Shootout.

There will also be tons of sportsman racing at the North-South shootout along with Gassers and Jet Cars all hitting the track. Fans can also head to the vendor midway to see new performance parts or check out racers in the pits thrashing between rounds.
