Maryland International Raceway plays host to some of the biggest drag racing events on the East Coast, so it’s only fitting the PDRA makes a stop at this track at such an important time during their season. The surface at the scenic Maryland International Raceway is always one of the best racers will see, so they know that their biggest tune-ups should stick to the track with ease. Fans can expect some of the quickest and closest racing of the PDRA season at the North-South Shootout.
Grudge racing has become an extremely popular component of the PDRA and the North-South Shootout will feature one heck of a race. The “DC Sniper” and “Black Chyna” are two of the biggest names in grudge racing and they’re set to meet at the North-South Shootout to settle all the trash talk between the two camps. This race will be for a cool $10,000 dollars, so you know the atmosphere will be electric when these two square off on the track.
The kings of speed in the PDRA series are cars and drivers of the Pro Extreme class. So far this season the racing has been intense with both turbo and blower cars making blazingly-quick passes deep in the three-second zone. The North-South Shootout could see the points race get even tighter between Tommy D’ Aprile, Mike Recchia, Jose Gonzalez, and Frankie Taylor as all of these drivers work to accumulate points toward a series title. The championship is far from decided so every Pro Extreme racer will be giving it their all to stay in the title hunt.
All of the Pro and Sportsman classes will be in competition at the North-South Shootout and they will pack the pits with the fastest doorslammers in the world. Fans can meet their favorite drivers and get up close to all the action just like any other PDRA event. There will also be a manufacturers midway for racers and fans to check out that will be filled with several great companies.
