Bob Giannelli from NRC Motorsports is always posting up photos of their latest builds over at YellowBullet.com, and they have been working on this car for the past few months. When I saw the thread announcing it’s “finally finished (Fairmont wagon)” I had to take a look inside as I had never seen one, at least that I remember.
NRC has been in business for about 30 years and is owned by Bob Giannelli and his son Jayson. They are now based in Aiken, South Carolina after making the move from Long Island, NY about three years ago. They are located directly across the street from the House of Hook. The body on the car is all steel with weight reduction in strategic areas and was painted by 2 Keys Custom Paint and Body in Augusta, Georgia. One unique thing on this car is the front exit exhaust fabbed up in house with 2 3/8 primary headers.
Another thing that I think is really cool that the car retains the back seat between the jungle gym 25.5 cage install. The front passenger area is taken up with two bottles and the cars electronics including an MSD 7500 series ignition, multiple relays and myriad wiring, also done in house. A Race Pak dash monitors assorted functions and is housed within the stock dashboard for a clean factory appearance. Bolted up to the back of the engine is a powerglide transmission and a Cameron Converter, sending the horsepower back to an 8.8 inch Ford rear filled with the necessary parts to live in the harsh enviornment. The attention to detail is simply amazing on this interesting build.

Out back the entire cargo area is carpeted , heck it looks like it could come this way right from Ford. The battery box was placed over the rear tires with weight bars farther back along both sides.

The rear mounting points seem to conform to normal stock suspension standards and the housing has plenty of bracing. The bolt in front bracing is a nice touch as well.
- The engine is a 598 cubic inch big chief style piece from P.A.R. Race Engines. It gets sprayed down with two kits from Speedtech tuned by Monte Smith and is topped off with a 1200 CFM carb from Pro Systems.

- The Billet Specialties wheels were powder coated locally in flat black. The rear were converted to beadlock status by MacFab Performance out of Bear Creek, North Carolina
