Final spot in Pro Stock K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge to be determined by fan vote

[1]The K&N Horsepower Challenge, the NHRA Pro Stock categories’ longtime eight-car All Star race will again be contested at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio on June 26 – but with an added new twist. Rather than locking in the top eight points earners during qualifying that has been customary with all of the races-within-a-race for the professional categories over the years, the exclusive event will instead showcase the top seven racers, while the eighth will be determined by a special online fan vote. A similar strategy has been overwhelmingly popular with fans at NASCAR’s Nextel All Star race.

The eight driver, as determined by the fans, will compete alongside seven of the top qualifiers in Pro Stock throughout the last year for the $50,000 winners prize that is part of an overall purse of $151,000. With three events remaining – Chicago, Englishtown, and Bristol – to make the top seven Mike Edwards, Greg Anderson, Jason Line, Allen Johnson, Jeg Coughlin, Ron Krisher, and Greg Stanfield are currently in the K&N Horsepower Challenge field.

There are already some Pro Stock racers out thee that have taken on the role of high school prom queen candidates, soliciting votes for their cause to make the starting lineup at Norwalk. To cast your vote for the Pro Stock driver not currently qualified for the bonus race, log on to www.KNFilters.com [3].
