When the Coyote 5.0-liter first made its debut inside of the Ford Mustang again, the competition was on to see who could be the baddest in the land. Speed shops and the like got to work on adding their goodies, bolt-ons, and power adders and seeing what quarter mile time they could eek out on the track.
The big winner ended up being Evolution Performance, Inc., who dominated the drag strip in their highly modified 5.0-liter. Their weapon of choice was a 2011 Kona Blue Metallic Mustang GT capable of 1,100 ground-stomping horsepower. This bad boy was custom tuned by Jon Lund of Lund Racing, a well-known car tuner.
With all of that being said, this car is the known fastest 2011-2013 Mustang GT in the world, the first 4-valve 2011-2013 Mustang to reach the 11 seconds in the quarter mile, and then again to dominate the drag strip with an impressive quarter mile run in the 8 second range. Anticipations were high as their monster made one hell of a pass at 8.78 seconds at 157 miles per hour.
Not only does it have those titles, but we, StangTV, have dubbed this Mustang the “One of the Baddest 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V of the Year”, as well as the winner in the Power Adder class at the shootout put on by Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine, and winner in the Power Adder Ultimate class for the 5.0L 4V Mustang GT shootout.
Why are we bringing this up? This car is now for sale and anybody interested knows that this is a performance beast capable of some sweet quarter mile times. You can own a bit of history with about $57k or best offer.
What’s powering this beast? Well, connected to the this built-up 302 Coyote are L&M custom coated Diamond pistons, Boss 302R cams, Boss 302 intake manifold, TSS billet oil pump gears, Moroso fabricated aluminum baffled oil pan, ATI balancer, and Ford Racing 70mm throttle body.
To help shift this power, the transmission is a Pro-Formance built C4 with transbrake with Frank Lupo’s Dynamic Converter. The shifter is the TCI Pro Outlaw shifter, and other parts include the transmission cooler and catch can. Mated to the front of the engine is a Procharger F1-C supercharger pushing 24 pounds of boost with an air to water intercooler and ice box mounted in the trunk.
The return fuel system includes an Aeromotive 6-gallon fuel cell with Pro-series pump. Other fuel parts include Fore Precision Works F4 fuel regulator and billet fuel filter, billet fuel rails, and 205 lb. fuel injectors. This Stang has been tuned for E85 fuel but can be retuned for anyone looking to run different fuel.
Now on to the suspension! To set off the menacing stance, a QA1 front coilover system was installed with QA1 adjustable rear shocks, and an adjustable upper control arm. Evolution Performance, Inc. also provided their own adjustable race lower control arms with heim joint ends as well as adjustable race Panhard bar with more Heim join ends, a Panhard bar brace, and 3-point torque box braces.
The exterior also features some goodies with Bogart Racing wheels GT Series, 15×4 in the front and 15×11 on the rear. Other cosmetic modifications include Cervini’s 4.5″ Cowl Hood and a Black Billet Grill. The interior features Cobra race seats including a 5-point harness, an NHRA certified 10-point roll cage with window net. The battery has also been located to the trunk.
If you had the money, would you throw down on this mean machine?
