If knowledge is power, then being able to monitor the most important items inside a racecar would make any racer the supreme commander of their horsepower domain. That is easier said than done when you have multiple gauges spread across the dashboard unless you can move them all to one location. The AEM Electronics CD-5 and CD-7 dashes allow you to put all your vehicles’ important information in one location that is fully customizable and easy to read.

The CD-5 and CD-7 dashes can monitor just about anything you can think of, but can also have a start-up screen that monitors different items before you drop the hammer. This customization of the dash is comprised of four main pages, including the startup page, a dedicated alarm page, and the On-Change page for a total of seven options.

AEM’s Lawson Mollica provides more details on what makes the customization of the CD-5 and CD-7 dashes so valuable for racers.

“While we provide design templates, you can create your own from scratch. That gives the user the ability to put whatever they want wherever they want it. We also provide the option to use whatever graphics you like — the sky really is the limit. In addition to allowing users to group data across multiple pages, we created a dedicated alarm page so that if you set an alarm parameter that triggers this screen it will be sure to get your attention. Users can also program text alarms on main screens, too, and it’s all completely user-definable, even down to the text in the warning. For racers who are using the OEM ECU, we provide logging versions of both dashes, so that you can have the visibility you need and log all of your channels in one place.”

The AEM CD-5 and CD-7 dashes will work with several different ECUs and can even be used with a reflashed stock ECU on 2008 and newer vehicles. To make adding these dashes easier on different applications AEM makes different adapter cables to match your ECU to the AEM dash of your choice.
