Greg Blevins Jr. Switches To Twin Turbo Setup In His Outlaw 10.5 Mustang

What makes more power, one turbo or twin turbos? That’s long been a question for many enthusiasts and no doubt both are extremely good options for high horsepower combinations. Guys like Dan Millen and Greg Blevins Jr. have showed they can make the single turbocharger – small block combinations work well enough to be competitive against their big block twin turbo opponents. As well as the single turbo combination has worked for Blevins, during this year’s off-season they decided to make some changes to the car – the most significant of which being the change to twin Precision turbochargers in hopes of making the car more competitive in a broader range of Outlaw 10.5 events across the country.

Some details and photos on the new build taking place at Gilsbach Racecraft were leaked on Yellowbullet

The 2009 Milan Dragway Outlaw 10.5 champ’s car is a traditional Ford setup with a Mike Moran built small block ford under the hood and the cylinders will be crammed full of air via twin 88mm turbochargers. It is topped with some high-end induction products such as a Wilson manifold and a set of canted valve Blue Thunder 4.3 heads sporting massive intake runners. This 2000 Saleen Mustang is set to bring in some 6-second time slips – as if low 7’s weren’t enough.

It’s cold up in Davisburg,MI where Blevins resides and we are sure that he is chomping at the bit to get this pony ready to go and onto the 1320 for some fresh runs with the new setup. The rather unique yellow and purple paint scheme is one that really grabs people’s attention as well, heck, even the intercooler piping inside the car has been coated in purple – its fine details like that, that make cars stand out. We can’t wait to see this bad pony post some time slips in 2010!
