Outlaw Drag Radial racing has taken the sport of drag racing by storm in the last few years. Like anything else in this world that is popular, people want to be involved and this has sparked much interest from promoters in staging and ‘one-up’ing’ one another with huge payout events that draw big car and spectator counts.
Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful ORTC “The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia” at South Georgia Motorsports Park, The “House of Hook,” Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC, is putting on what is being dubbed the biggest Drag Radial race of the year. With $25,000 going to the winner of Drag Radial, cars will literally be coming out of the woodwork to line up for a shot at that chunk of change.
In addition to the headlining Drag Radial class, Outlaw Pro Modifieds will be on the slate and racing for a $10,000 winners payout. Drag Radial will have a 32-car field, and Pro Mod will have the same if enough cars show up to the field. The rest of the payouts for both classes are as follows:
Drag Radial
$25,000 to win
$5,000 R/U
$1000 Semi
$ 250 1/4’s
32 car field
$300 entry fee
All Out Pro Mod
$10,000 win
$2,500 R/U
$1,000 Semi
$250 1/4’s
16 or 32 car field depending on entries
$150 Entry Fee
This race was initially scheduled for May 22, but has been moved to July 11. The rules for Drag Radial will follow that of ORTC, which should help to bring in a lot of racers for the big pot. Much like the ORTC race at South Georgia back in March, this is a happening that you won’t want to miss.
