It would appear that there has been a truce called in the SFI Foundation / Impact Racing battle that has waged in the press. Both sides have published press releases this morning stating that Impact Racing will remain a participant in the SFI programs.
Curiously, the SFI Foundation’s press release was dated September 3rd, 2010 where the Impact Racing press release received by email, is dated August 3rd, 2010.
The Impact Racing press release posted on their website had the date changed to September 3, 2010.
The joint press release states that “Impact acknowledges that in prior years it did not fully comply with SFI’s specifications, however these problems have been resolved”.
If the dates on the press release is any indication of the two parties willingness to work together constructively, this issue may not be completely resolved.
