If you have ever wanted to jump head over heels into the drag racing world then look no further than this little gem. While browsing the RacingJunk classifieds we came across quite a few interesting pieces that may get you to the top of the pack, but this one is the most interesting to say the least. The state of Texas brings us Kenny Hubbard’s 2002 Outlaw 10.5 Camaro that has been competing in some of the top heads-up venues around the south central region.
The Camaro is outfitted with a 481X Alan Johnson blown Hemi with boost delivered by a PSI screw blower and is all backed up by a BTE powerglide. With low four second elapsed times coming at ease during the last Duck X Productions race at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Hubbard became the first drag radial tire-equipped car in the 4.2-second zone — 4.26 seconds at 176mph to be exact — put the Camaro in the record books right up there with Kevin Fiscus and Steve Jackson.
With what has been called the baddest heads up drag race in world just a few weeks away you can secure a top qualifier in plenty of time. So head over to your local cash and stash and round up 150 large and give Kenny a call to buy his record setting Camaro and prepare for the No Mercy III race at South Georgia Motorsports Park. With the amazing track preparation and great atmospheric conditions we may just see the very first sub 4.2-second pass in the history of drag radial racing. If you don’t get a chance to buy this car or travel to the No Mercy race stay tuned here to Dragzine for round by round coverage in just a couple of weeks.
