Lamb Tries For 3 In A Row At BGSS Falls To Borgia In Final Round

It was Borgia’s night as he took out Lamb in a race that went all the way to the stripe in the BGSS final.

Jacob Lamb has been making the most of his time in between NMRA races, racing his Coyote Stock car in a variety of bracket races near his home. Coming into this past weekend he was undefeated in the Bluegrass Super Shifters series this season.

BGSS is a regional bracket racing series for stick shift cars, and while some may roll their eyes at the idea of bracket racing, when you throw in a stick shift it actually gets pretty exciting.

Rob Hartness (right) an NMRA Mod Motor regular showed up with his snake skin Cobra. Right: The man with a bounty on his head, Jacob Lamb.

With a bounty put on his head by both BGSS operator Tom Borgia, and the track Lamb was looking to collect again. We heard rumors that with the bounty, and with the NMRA Joliet race just a few weeks away that some other Coyote Stock racers might be headed to Thornhill to take out Lamb. So we shoved StangTV editor Don Creason, along with his camera into a van and sent it to the track to check things out.

Unfortunately, weather and maybe Lamb’s consistency and home court advantage seemed to have scared off the other Coyote Stock racers. We were still treated to a great evening of stick shift drags, that never got boring. Lamb made it all the way to the finals to once again face series promoter Tom Borgia in his ’95 Mustang.

The race between Lamb and Borgia came down to the stripe, with the margin of victory printed on the timeslips as 0.0000. Lamb broke-out running a 6.639 on a 6.65 dial-in, giving Borgia the win. The next BGSS race is this Saturday July 5th, at Thronhill. We’re also hearing rumors of an Outlaw Coyote Stock race being put together by Borgia and Thornhill, we’ll keep you posted on that.
