Mail Terminal Services Expands Role With DSR And Beckman

[1]

Reigning NHRA [2] Funny Car world champion Jack Beckman will carry an important message on his Dodge Charger R/T this season.

It will be one that encourages fans to send their own important messages.

Mail Terminal Services, owned by avid drag racers Rodger and Karen Comstock, has expanded their role for 2013 on the Don Schumacher Racing Funny Car in which Beckman will drive.

MTS will use exposure on Beckman’s record-setting Dodge to promote “Mail for Wounded Warriors” and “Hire a Hero” programs. MTS will have postcards available at Beckman’s pit area and in DSR hospitality pavilions at each of 24 NHRA national events for fans to write notes to our nation’s heroes.

The Mail for Wounded Warriors/Hire a Hero MTS Dodge will debut its primary sponsorship on Feb. 22-24 at the Arizona NHRA Nationals near Phoenix and run at six other national events. At the other 18 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events the Mail for Wounded Warriors message will be prominently displayed on Beckman’s car.

MTS not only will deliver the cards to Wounded Warriors, but MTS will donate $1 for each postcard fans complete at Mello Yello events will go to the Wounded Warriors organization.

The postcards and a kiosk at Beckman’s pit will be available at all 24 NHRA national events beginning with the 2013 season-opening NHRA Winternationals at Pomona, Calif.

“MTS will have a kiosk available for NHRA fans to participate in this worthwhile program,” said Rodger Comstock, president and chief executive officer of Mail Terminal Services. “We will supply postcards for fans to express gratitude, support, encouragement and thanks to those who sacrificed for our freedom.

“Mail Terminal Services, with the support of our partner Don Schumacher Racing, will honor service members injured while on duty fighting for our country. Post cards with words of encouragement and support will be sent to Wounded Warriors in areas hosting the 24 NHRA National events.

“We want to get out the word about the great work done by the Wounded Warriors organization.

“This is one way MTS and DSR can demonstrate our support to all the troops who served and were injured defending our country. They deserve to receive encouraging words from their countrymen and patriotic NHRA fans.”

For team owner Don Schumacher, the Mail for Wounded Warriors perfectly complements DSR commitment to supporting our troops.

“Rodger and Karen are longtime supporters of Jack and DSR, and we could not be more proud to help our wonderful fans provide support for the Wounded Warriors who have given so much to our country,” said DSR owner Don Schumacher.

“I fully support the MTS Mail for Wounded Warriors and Hire a Hero programs. Everyone at DSR and MTS will work hand-in-hand to get this project underway in Pomona and continue it throughout the 24-event season.”

MTS is not new to helping our military know how much the country supports them whether in a war zone or readjusting to life at home. The Comstocks are patriotic Americans who have utilized their successful MTS business to support American troops before.

Beginning in 2007, MTS used Beckman’s Funny Car as a 300-mph billboard to generate nearly one million postcards to troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan through its “Mail from Home” campaign.

At a classic car auction two weeks ago in Scottsdale, Ariz., the Comstocks donated a high-performance 1993 Ford Mustang racecar wrapped in a camouflage paint scheme with the names of fallen heroes that raised $5,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.
