Mopar Performance this week placed the online application for the 2010 Dodge Challenger “Drag Pak” Drag Race Package cars on their website. Interested customers are instructed to fill out the form and submit to Mopar via their local Dodge dealer. The application is not a full commitment to order a car, but only presents your interest in a purchase. Following acceptance of the applications, the order will be filled upon completion of the car in future months.

The 2010 Drag Pak Challenger, much like the 2009 version, will be a factory-developed body-in-white vehicle kit based on the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The car will feature a 1,000 pound weight reduction with the removal of major components and systems, a lift off hood with a functional scoop, Dodge Viper-style front seats that accommodate 6-point harnesses, and polycarbonate door windows.
Other features include a modified transmission tunnel, raised floor for solid axle conversion, solid engine mounts, shortened wheelbase, special modified K-member, lightweight drag race only front brake assembly, and manual rack and pinion steering.
Engine packages include the 5.7-liter, 6.1-liter Hemi and 5.9L Magnum. The standard 6.1 Hemi features a forged steel crankshaft, forged 12:1 pistons, a hydraulic roller cam, .584” valve lift with 1.6 ratio rocker arms, and a special high ram EFI intake manifold with a 4-barrel throttle body. Both a four-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission setup are part of the package, although the transmission itself is not.
As stated on the order form, the car requires extensive work following delivery, as it lacks a roll cage, safety equipment, wheels and tires, transmission, and many other components that make it race-ready.
The Drag Pak Challenger is eligible to compete in over 40 classes in Stock and Super Stock eliminators within the NHRA and IHRA. Mopar produced 105 2009 model Drag Pak Challengers, and reportedly will build roughly 50-70 of the 2010 model cars.
