The folks at Moser Engineering, who don’t just develop and manufacture product, but race what they build in their very own racing machinery have had quite a start to the 2015 season, most notably pulling in some hardware at the recent Cajun SPORTSNationals in Louisiana.
The Moser familys’ own Rob Moser debuted an all-new ProCharger combination with a gear drive on his 2012 American Race Cars-built Top Dragster at the Lucas Oil sportsman national event at the No Problem Raceway Park, clicking off a stout 6.29 at 223.06 mph with a 4.11 to the eighth-mile during pre-event testing. Moser later qualified third with a 6.30 but fouled out in the opening round of eliminations.
Longtime Moser-backed racer Slate Cummings took the hardware in SS/BS Super Stock class eliminations in his ’03 Cavalier with a close 8.63 to 8.67 defeat of Gary Cooccaro. Slate then went on to win the Moser Engineering Sportsman Shootout in his B/SA Corvette for a hefty $5,000 payday.
The Moser Engineering team this season is comprised of a fleet of 13 racing machines spanning Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, and the 8.90 and 9.90 NHRA and IHRA index categories, competing both in the midwest near Moser’s northern Indiana home, in the southwest, and at select events in other divisions around the country.
