Chasing a heads-up points championship in drag racing can be particularly grueling; the pressure to perform every time the car hits the track can push the best racers to the limit of their abilities and make for electrifying action on the strip. And popular racers Mike Murillo and Scott Taylor are collectively aiming to inject that kind of approach to racing into the No Prep world by putting on something brand new to drag racing: their Dirty South No Prep Racing Series.
The series will have a division for any racer who wants to get in on the action, including Big Tire, Small Tire, and a True Street class. The racers who participate in the points series are going to be chasing some great prizes, including hand-built trophies, leather jackets, free event entry, and a custom enclosed trailer. These prizes will be handed out to each class champion, along with some nice payouts at each race.
The Dirty South series will be kick off at Hub City Dragway August 6, followed by a trip to No Problem Raceway on September 10, then to Houston Motorsports Park October 29, and back to Hub City on November 12 for the series finale. To make the points chase even more interesting, the finals will be a double points event, so anything could happen in the standings!
