We can neither confirm nor deny that upon discovery of these videos that soda was spewed on our computer screens, we’ll just offer a forewarning that you might want to put your beverage aside for a moment. Because, as we’re sure you’ll agree, the sight of something you’d normally expect to see cruising the junk food aisles at Wal-Mart at the breakneck speed of 1 mph barreling past a Nissan Skyline is, well, downright hilarious.

Dubbed “The World’s Fastest Mobility Scooter”, this incredibly awesome contraption is your typical run-of-the-mill grocery store transportation on steroids. Situated under the seat, where the battery-operated engine once sat, there is now a Suzuki GSX-600F motor cycle engine – a 600cc, air-cooled, inline four-cylinder, DOHC piece that makes about 80 horsepower from the factory. That doesn’t sound like much, but when you consider the weight-to-horsepower ratio, you’ve got the recipe for something no Wal-Mart aisle can handle.

The scooter is the brainchild of the guys at Garage Insanity [3], built by John McNeil, Richard Underwood, and Dale Glover, and ridden/driven by Underwood himself. The guys claim a speed capability of about 160 mph with enough road, but thus far have only reached 102 mph in their 1/4-mile exploits and an estimated 125 mph in an un-timed speed run. One of those exploits you can see here, as the scooter outruns a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T with relative ease. According to reports elsewhere on the web, this thing has turned a best 1/4-mile elapsed time of 13.28-seconds, which is plenty quick to gap a lot of street-going production vehicles. And believe it or not, this seemingly one-of-a-kind ride actually has some competition out there, as there is another mobility scooter in England with a 125cc dirt bike motor on it that covers the 1/4-mile at about 70 mph.

This is by far one of the coolest things we’ve seen in quite some time, ranking right up there with the truly epic Postman Pat Van. And these guys aren’t done, as they’re already looking for something unique to stuff a 13B Rotary motor in!
