Neal Chance Converters Racers Red Hot In the Month Of June

When you build one of the sports’ leading torque converters and you sell a ton of them, you’re destined to have plenty of accolades to share, and the team at Neal Chance Racing Converters certainly have that, as their customers rack up the records, the race victories, and even the championships in spades.

The summer, while only officially a few days old, has already been good to racers running Neal Chance’s converters, stretching from California to Texas clear to North Carolina and Maryland. On the West coast, Dragzine’s own James Lawrence parked the Project BlownZ Camaro in victory lane at the NMCA West Coast Shootout in Fontana, California. Lawrence qualified second in the Limited Street field and survived four rounds of racing, taking out Roger Rydell with a 7.26 in the final round.

Meanwhile, out in Texas, Eric Bain, driver of the “Boosted EGO” Ford Mustang collected a cool $10,000 payday for winning the Amarillo Dragway’s no prep race in the Small Tire class, even defeating Street Outlaws’ own ‘Kamikaze Chris’ and the El Camino in the process.

Earlier this month, NCRC customer Jay Cox drove his Pro Nitrous Camaro to the Galot Motorsports Park’s Mad Mule Thursday Pro Mod crown. Cox was one of eight cars out of 19 to make the qualified field and then worked his way through three rounds of racing, ultimately defeating fellow NCRC-equipped racer John Strickland in the final, 3.76 to 3.78.

And Mike Decker, one of the preeminent heavy hitters in the Outlaw 10.5 arena, opened the month of June with not one but a pair of victories at the Cecil County Dragway Street Car Shootout, collecting a rain-postponed win during qualifying, and then defeating Mo Hall to make it a double-up on the weekend.
