Neal Chance Racing Converters customers have been tearing it up on the track this summer, collecting victories and setting records in the Pro Modified-style and small-tire racing categories.
At the Virginia Motorsports Park stop on the inaugural PDRA tour, Neal Chance Racing Converters customer Brandon Snider was able to take home his first PDRA win in the Pro Extreme class in an all-NCRC final round of the class. Snider qualified number three with a 3.584 at 211 MPH, and took his JMRC-built, self-tuned screw-blown Corvette to the winner’s circle with a 3.56 at 209.95 MPH over Tommy D’Aprile’s 3.60 blast.
We’ve written before about GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina, and its resurrection from the ashes of Dunn Benson Dragway. Now that the track is fully operational, who better to test it than Galot Motorsports themselves? Todd “King Tut” Tutterow took to the track in the team;s ’68 Camaro for the track’s inaugural test session back on August 6th — and proceeded to show the world that GALOT Motorsports Park was ready for all-comers. On his first pass, he blasted to a 3.779, then a 3.758 at 194.49 MPH in PDRA Pro Boost trim — over a tenth quicker than his own PDRA world record to that point and a new personal best.
Previous to this test session at GMP, GALOT Motorsports driver Kevin Rivenbark drove his Mustang to the winner’s circle for the first time at the Virginia stop on the PDRA tour. With Tutterow turning the screws on the blown entry, Rivenbark clipped off a 3.86 at 191-plus to eliminate Joe Baker in the final round.
In July, running one of NCRC’s X275-style converters, Turbo Todd Moyer took home the win at the Radial Revenge race at Tulsa Raceway Park with his turbocharged Mustang. Moyer’s had a couple of wins this season, with a victory in Denton, Texas, and the previous Radial Revenge race in Tulsa also to his credit.
In the final round of the July event, Moyer went up against Tyler Stubbe and barely took the win on the tree — edging out Stubbe despite the quicker elapsed time from the Stubbe nitrous-powered machine in the quickest side-by-side X275 race in Oklahoma history.
