A quick-release steering wheel makes for a quick exit from your race car, and Mark Williams Enterprises has expanded its range of quick-release steering hubs to encompass almost every kind of racing. Get in, get out, get on with the race, right?
Official Release:
Mark Williams Enterprises has expanded the range of applications for its precision indexed quick-release steering hub to adapt to steering wheels employed in virtually all forms of motorsports; from “butterfly” wheels found in drag racing to suede-wrapped Italian wheels used in sports car competition. The M-W assembly meets SFI Specs 42.1.
Important benefits of the M-W quick-release hub include making it easier for the driver to enter or exit a race car, and facilitating safety crew access to a driver in case of an accident.
Key features include close-tolerance indexed splines that eliminates the “slop” found in lesser quality hubs, and a positive ball/detent lock and sliding collar that is easily released with two-fingers. The adapter fits standard 3/4″ o.d. steering shafts and can be bolted or welded into position.
The hubs are precision CNC machined from billet 7075 alloy aluminum and black hard coat anodized for durability. For additional information go to www.markwilliams.com or call Mark Williams Enterprises at 866-863-4638.
