TORRANCE, CA – Just about everyone racing in Pro Mod, Mountain Motor Pro Stocks or one of ADRL’s Pro Nitrous classes are now using 5.3” bore spacing blocks that accommodate bore diameters well over 5-inches. When you have a piston that large, revving that high, the strength-to-weight ratio is extremely critical. Ross has answered this design challenge with its weight-saving Forged Side Relief piston intended for 800cid-plus nitrous engines. They feature full-length pin bosses that accept pin buttons for trouble-free installation and bulletproof reliability. These pistons are stronger than billet at a fraction of the price!
Available in bore sizes from 4.875” – 5.125”, Ross has models that work with all popular 5.300” bore cylinder heads currently being sold. Many options are available to the engine builder including internal milling for increased weight reduction, radial or top gas porting and a number of different coatings.
