Racing a stick-shift Mustang can be incredibly challenging, especially when you’re trying to be consistent, or go heads up against the competition. It’s a challenge that only a few select racers pursue, and fewer still are truly skilled at finessing the clutch, shifter, throttle, and steering wheel, while dropping fast times at the track.

If you think you’re particularly well skilled at banging gears on the quarter-mile, and you happen to have a fast Mustang, mark your calendars, and head to Bradenton Florida this March 5-8. The NMRA will not only be celebrating the end of winter with their annual Spring Break Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park, but will also be hosting the Tremec Stick Shift Shootout as part of the action.

The fastest 8 stick shift cars, that use a single lever shifter and manually activated clutch and shift action, will receive a special stick shift shootout plaque. From there the two fastest cars will duke it out in a heads up finale, winner take all. The winner will take home a new Tremec transmission of their choice, along with bragging rights from the race.

The Tremec Stick Shift Shootout is run on Saturday at the Spring Break Shootout, and the awards ceremony is held Saturday evening after the Tremec racer appreciation party.
