Optic Armor Windows Find Their Way Onto Some Big Name Rides

[1]

The team over at Optic Armor Performance Windows [2] build lightweight polycarbonate replacement windows for many different vehicle applications; we’re even using them in our Project BlownZ Camaro [3] and have found them to be incredibly clear and easy to install.

Their line of Drop In Black Out [4] windows have been gaining acceptance with the racer contingent ever since the company hit the scene, with 14-time world champion Mike Murillo installing a set into his Lafawnduh Outlaw 10.5 Mustang with great success. Current applications include the ’93-’02 F-Body, 2010+ Camaro, ’79-current Mustang coupe and hatchback, along with the ’08+ Dodge Challenger. The DIBO windows, as they’re sometimes referred, are available in tinted or clear applications and come ready to glue-in or screw-in – no cutting, no sanding, just easy install.

[5]They’ve even found a home with the street racing crowd, as we popped over to their Facebook page [6] and found photos of Optic Armor’s products installed in Justin “Big Chief” Shearer’s Street Outlaws Pontiac as well as Big Daddy Dave’s GMC Sonoma [7] pick-em-up truck.

The polycarbonate is formed to shape, and then Optic Armor covers the window with a scratch- and chemical-resistant coating that will withstand the harsh conditions a racecar can experience during its lifetime. Optic Armor windows aren’t just for the windshield and back glass, however – they can make side windows as well – even for roll-up applications, just give them a call with your requirements.

Adding these is a great way to lose substantial weight from your racecar without cutting it into a million pieces, and the added safety benefits should there be an on-track incident are many – no worries about safety glass exploding all over the track or cutting anyone. We’ve seen them showing up in more and more vehicles every time we’re out at the track, and everyone we’ve asked about them seems to be very pleased with the upgrade.
