Outlaw Armageddon ’16 Biggest No Prep In History With 233+ Entries

No Prep racing is all about being able to make your racecar work on a tricky surface, to show who the true tuners and drivers are. That kind of environment helps to build the “what will happen next” drama and excitement of No Prep racing. We’re just a few short weeks away from the Outlaw Armageddon – The Second Coming to be held at Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Oklahoma, and the anticipation for this event is starting to hit a boiling point.

The 2015 edition of Outlaw Armageddon brought out the best No Prep racers in the world, and the 2016 edition is looking to easily top that race. All of the drivers who are registered for this event are taking it pretty seriously, as they should, considering the sheer size of the event and the competition that will be in attendance.

“This will be the biggest No Prep race ever held, anywhere. We have 233 registered racers, and room to add another 42, capping us at 275 entries. Whoever wins these classes will definitely be able to say they have won the toughest No Prep race in the country,” Thunder Valley Raceway Parks’ Nick Duty says.

The biggest No Prep in history? Hell yes. We will be there!

The Big Tire class could be the most stacked of any No Prep race ever held, with racers on tap to throw down for the $30,000 in purse money. Registered racers for the event include James “Birdman” Finny, Scott Taylor, Chris Parker, Korey Peters, Justin “Big Chief” Shearer, Jerry “Monza” Johnson, Mike Murillo, Larry Larson, David “Bird” Jones, and many more.

The Small Tire list also has its share of big names on tap, like Sergio “Flaco” Gonzalez, Petey Smallblock, The AV Boys, Chris “BoostedGT” Hamilton, Brandon “LS Killr” Smith, Bobby Ducote, and many others planning to be in attendance.

According to Duty, the trash talk between racers is already starting to heat up.

“In the Small Tire class there has been some pretty heavy smack talk between the Big Baller Coupe (Eric Bunton) and Travis Santa Cruz (Black Ops) camps.”

The battle between camps even spilled over to the Outlaw Armageddon Facebook page, where the fans were getting in on the action. “We let our fans vote in a ‘virtual’ Invitational Race on Facebook, where we randomly paired the drivers, and the fans voted on who would win each match-up. In a quarter-final pairing, Chief was matched up with Birdman, and over 8,000 people voted. Chief won in a landslide, but the camps got into a big Facebook battle about who would win on the track,” Duty explains.
