Watching 2000+hp cars rolling through the staging lanes up to the burnout box is an exciting experience in itself. But when a brand new car driven by a name so popular in the racing community as Pat Musi rolls up to the lights, a few more heads are likely to turn. When Musi announced he was building a 903 cubic inch motor for his ride, we really took notice.
It’s almost hard to imagine what it would be like to sit behind such a massive 14.7-liter powerplant, more than triple the size of what you would typically find in a production-car these days. Though Musi loves being unique when he is chasing down blower and turbo cars. The car’s debut was extremely succesful, running a 6.27 @ 192mph lifting at the 1000ft mark off the trailer. Even while lifting, this was the best run of the day.

A lot of work went into this unique Dodge Stratus built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars, and it all paid off. Musi was impressed with the car’s performance off the trailer, but he knows there is more in it. Musi is devoted to this car, some would even say more than his previous rides, as he lost 42 pounds in the 3 months leading up to the event.
Musi blasted through the first 2 rounds of eliminations with a 6.31 first round and 6.30 second round, but a staging battle in the third round resulted in a red-light. Nothing to be ashamed of however, as Musi was on-track to take a win this weekend, and we believe this car has a winning future ahead of it. Now we can’t wait for a classic Musi vs Tony Christian battle!
