NHRA recently posted a story and photos of the Challenger Drag Pack car Jeg Coughlin Jr plans to race at select NHRA events in 2010. According to NHRA, it is one of 25 factory built cars that will be racing next year. The car will be painted the traditional Jeg’s yellow with bold graphics. You’ll remember Don Garlits also raced a Drag Pack Challenger last year at several NHRA events. After some off season tuning, we anticipate Big Daddy’s return with the car in 2010.

Over the years, Jeg Jr. has competed in several Hemi Shootout events and won the Indy Shootout in 2004 driving for Michael Ogburn and Harry Holton. The Coughlin brothers have always participated in Sportsman Racing and it’s nice to see Jeg Jr. race in Stock eliminator.
According to www.dragracingonline.com Larry Morgan made a few passes in a new Mustang Cobra Jet at a recent test session at Palm Beach International Raceway. He was already testing his new 2010 Mustang Pro Stock car at the event and Ford Racing just happened to have their Cobra Jet engineering trailer on the property.
Morgan is a former Stock Eliminator racer who moved up to Comp Eliminator and eventually Pro Stock. We imagine driving an NHRA stocker is like riding a bike and a seasoned racer can pick up the particulars of a new car quickly. Reports from the session say that Morgan made a 9.65 e.t. pass at 140 mph, pretty impressive for a factory built car.
