Ron Pease Unveils New West Coast Outlaw 10.5 Chevy Nova

There may have been a time when the future looked bleak for the once-flourishing Outlaw 10.5 category, but that time certainly isn’t today. New and old faces, along with new and old machines are breathing new life back into the class from coast to coast, and one of the latest, and perhaps newest, of those is Washington states’ Ron Pease, who unveiled his killer new Chevrolet Nova over the weekend, complete with a jaw-dropping stance that’s made the Nova a favorite over the years.

Peases’ new machine is powered by a 615-cubic inch big block Chevrolet bullet with two stages of nitrous oxide, delivering a truly old school Outlaw 10.5 combination. The car currently tips the scales at 2,745 pounds, but with lightweight batteries and lexan windows on the wish list, Pease should be much closer to competitive weight in the near future. The trick new Nova was christened on Friday at the Pacific Raceways in Seattle, where it recorded a best quarter mile shakedown hit of 7.33 seconds at 185 miles per hour.

“We race for fun and what my wallet can afford, and right now, we’re having a blast,” said Pease. Look for Pease and his new Nova at events around the west coast, including the Pacific Street Car Association and West Coast Hot Rod Association.
