Scruggs blasts to 210mph in testing

[1]

Jason Scruggs has become the fastest man on the planet in a doorslammer.

Jason Scruggs’ name has become synonymous with record setting performances. From his early days he has been one to run at the front of the pack everywhere he went. Even with a small block based combination with a huge PSI blower on top, they reeked havoc on the competition. Back in 1996 is when Jason showed up in the scene and by 1999 he was sitting at the wheel of a RJ Race Cars built 1963 Corvette. With that famed small block punched out at 400 cubic inches, Jason and his father set records about as fast as they could fix all the parts they were breaking.

His 3.96 second run at the time was unheard of and it just started a trend for the Scruggs family as they have surely progressed with the times. In 2004 Jason took delivery of a Tommy Mauney built car and stepped up to the plate to play in the major leagues. A Brad Anderson Hemi was commissioned to supply the power in the Mauney built piece. Mauney’s capabilities to make a car handle the power were evident in his very own pro modified entry which helped Jason make the decision to go that route.

In most recent years Scruggs called upon Garrett Race Cars who build some truly bad hot rods for action in the ADRL and across the country on the outlaw circuits. Starting with a 2006 Dodge Stratus, Jason and his team barraged the competition on their way to back to back championships. One of which was won with the Stratus. Once the Stratus was retired a new Garrett built Camaro. The Camaro started off  life in a hard way at Virginia Motorsports Park. An oil line came loose at the hit of the throttle and sent the Camaro slipping and sliding head on into the wall. A testament to how hard this team works is the fact that they had the old Stratus towed from Mississippi to Virginia and prepared it for action by the final round of qualifying.

Jump forward to now and you will find out that Jason is back at it again. The crew hauled out to Palm Beach International Raceway for some pre-season testing. Judging from the results it was well worth it.  Scruggs reassured his name as the “Mississippi Missile” by blasting to the quickest and fastest pass ever in full bodied doorslammer in the world. His [email protected] mph has sent a message to the competition that the Scruggs Racing Team is coming to reclaim their championship ways in Pro Extreme.
