[1]A few months ago, we brought you the footage of everybody’s favorite trash talker, Steve “Stevie Fast” Jackson lining up his infamous “Shadow” Mustang alongside Marcus Birt [2] in his nitrous-huffing tube chassis Corvette. Not surprisingly – at least to those who know Stevie’s reputation – Jackson took the win, so Birt went back to the drawing board and upgraded his powerplant to nearly 4-digit cubic inches and headed to Middle Georgia Raceway Park to try his luck against the Phil Shuler-tuned Shadow again.

In this video, brought to us by grudge video statesman Dolemite, starts with our video man polling the fans to see who they expect to take the win. Despite Birt having an advantage in weight, chassis and tire size, all but a single fan said they were riding with Shadow, a testament to the reputation Jackson and his crew have built in the grudge world for doing whatever it takes to get the win.
Later, we join the pair in staging for the coin flip, which Birt won, then get straight to the racing action. While it’s not mentioned in the video, the bet for this race was $10,000 to the winner, with bonus money for the first to leave, plus another $500 for the “gap” if the winning car cleared the loser by a car length or more.
[4]This moment when Stevie’s wheelie bars touched the wall show just how crossed up the Shadow was going through the finish line. The fact that Stevie kept the car on all four tires is a true testament to his driving abilities!
Dolemite took up his position far down track, giving us the best view of the action, as Birt was out of the race around half track after losing traction and getting out of shape. However, that hardly ended the action as Jackson, hell-bent on getting that Gap bonus, manhandled the Shadow through the finish line on two wheels with sparks a’flying.
Jackson also lost traction, though much farther downtrack, and actually grazed the retaining wall with the wheelie bar past the finish line before reigning in the blown monster and slowing to a safe stop.
Stevie would leave the track with a duffel bag full of cash, taking the winners money, the holeshot bonus and the Gap money, landing him an $11,000 payday. Not a bad payoff for a Wednesday afternoon!
