Strange Engineering is continuing its mission of supporting the grass roots level of drag racing in 2016 as it has extended its involvement with the Cecil County Dragway and the Cecil County Outlaw Street Car Shootouts, one of the top monthly heads-up door car series in the country.
Strange President Jeff Stange met with track owner, Jim Halsey, at the Yellow Bullet Nationals in 2014, and quickly realized that the track and its series presented a perfect opportunity to support its customers and the sport, in general.
“Looking into the series that Halsey hosts at Cecil County, the Outlaw Shootout presented itself as a great opportunity for Strange Engineering to really bring our support in a big way, to show support for the grassroots nature of the track and the series, as well as our customers and racers who make the event all that it is,” says the team at Strange.
Strange Engineering became the title sponsor of the Outlaw Street Car Shootout in 2015, which boasts upwards of 250-350 cars in 10 different categories, including Outlaw 10.5, X275, Ultra 275, Top Sportsman, 8.50, 10.00, & 11.50 Index, Pro Dial, Pro & Super Street.
The company has expanded its support of Cecil County beyond the heads-up events, as well, offering its ‘Perfectly Strange’ award at the tracks’ Summit ET Series bracket racing events, which awards $200 to any racer that runs dead-on their dial-in with a zero during eliminations and wins the round while running the Strange Engineering decal on their car.
Strange also has ownership of 100 general admission tickets to Cecil County racing events, which they hand out through unique various giveaways and contests.
