Strange Engineering Joins Mid-West Pro Mod Series as Season Sponsor

The Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) is proud to announce Strange Engineering has come on board as an official series sponsor for its 2018 racing season. Headquartered in a 120,000-square-foot facility in Morton Grove, IL, Strange Engineering has been a leading manufacturer of high-performance driveline and suspension components for more than 50 years and also is a team sponsor to MWPMS owner, promoter and competitor Keith Haney.

“I’ve trusted Strange Engineering parts on both of my race cars for several years, so I know what they bring to the table: honesty, integrity and great customer service,” said Haney, who races in both the Pro Mod and Radial vs. the World classes with a pair of nearly identical-looking 2016 Camaros. “It truly is an honor for everyone in the Mid-West Pro Mod Series to welcome a company with such a long, rich history like Strange as an important marketing partner this year.”

As the son of company founder Bob Stange (pronounced “Stang-ee”), Strange Engineering President Jeff Stange literally grew up in the sport and personally witnessed a great deal of drag racing history. He said he sees “a lot of the old days” in the way Haney and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series operate.

“You know, Keith and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series are really trying to make drag racing fun and honestly that’s what attracts me,” Stange said. “It’s very competitive racing, so I really like that, but it also seems relaxed and the teams are having fun with it. Personally, that means a lot to me because I think we need that for the sport to grow.”

Stange added that although Strange Engineering will have a limited trackside presence at MWPMS events, he feels it’s important to encourage the racing pursuits of his customers by financially supporting their series.

“I’m not sure I’ll get to the track myself this year, but even if I can’t make it out it gets me excited to watch the online feeds from the Mid-West races and see how committed everyone is to what they’re doing. And I like seeing a lot of younger people getting involved there, too. It seems like there are probably three generations involved at the track each time,” Stange said.

“To me that says the sport is still growing, and if the sport grows that means hopefully Strange will grow, too, as will other manufacturers—including our competitors—because that’s how we’ll all stay in business. But I will be rooting for all our Strange customers, you can count on that.”

The 2018 Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series season continues this weekend (Mar. 30-31), with the Radial Revenge Tour 2018 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, followed by the MWPMS competing as part of the Outlaw Street Car Reunion Apr. 20-22, at Beech Bend Raceway Park in southern Kentucky.
